Previously, I had thought blogs were stupid.

Why would you want to put your diary online so everyone could read it?

Needless to say, I got hooked.

It is so much fun, and the people are great!

The requests have been coming in fast and furious this morning.

In addition, a large homeschool academy contacted us this morning as a result of seeing our ad.

Thank you so much for this opportunity. The Old Schoolhouse has been very kind to our business!"

A B See Meme ~ 'B' is for ....  by BChsMamaof3
'B' is for BEAR!!! You know, the statuesque ones that you can rough and tumble with.... and pretend that you fought and survived a mauling incident with *grin*. But definitely not the 'Dennis the Menis' kind that we remember all to well! LOL. For more ABSee pics, check them out here. Blessings,  (more)
Teeth!  by Hobbitsmom
This weekend was an eventful one for our youngest who is 5.  He lost his first tooth.  It was the usual first tooth trauma - 'will it come out on its own or not'.  Daddy would tease him and he'd try oh so hard to wiggle that thing out.  Finally, Saturday night, he let me give it a go & POP! out it came.  We have the unspoken joke of the tooth fairy here.  Everyone knows it's Daddy, but everyone plays along.  The first tooth is always the big one financial wise & he wasn't disappointed.  It gave him something to (more)
Our Christmas  by Lynne
Here are some pictures from our Christmas (the one we celebrated at our house with just the kids).  It would be nice to be able to celebrate one time and then be done.  I think we end up 'doing' Christmas about 4 times--it's a bit overwhelming and time-consuming.  But, anyway, here they are...   "There are only a few big ways to save money but there are many small ways ....that all adds up." This weeks tip... . Now, with it being cooler this winter we need every trick in the book we can get to make our homes warmer.    I learned not to long ago if you close your curtains it warms up the your room by 5 degrees in the winter and cools down the room by 5 degrees in the summer.  . I have been on this journey to become a better fugal gal for over 18 years and I am always learning new things do be more (more)
He WALKS  by Mamaforhim
Hey everyone!  Elijah walks... well, he CAN walk... he's still crawling as his preferred method of transportation, but he's choosing to walk a bit more each day without coaxing! I just put the January tape into our video recorder, so I will catch some footage and post it as soon as possible! I have  13 movie tape things that go into the recorder and they are each labeled with a month of the year. At the end of the month, I dump those contents into imovie to be edited when I have time ( which I haven't had for 3 months!), rewind the (more)
Happy New Year!  by Lisa
You are probably wondering what happened lol!  No I didnt fall off the face of the earth, but the holiday season successfully sucked me in and held me hostage for a few weeks.  We had a little school and finished up our Advent learning, though the 'lessons' became less and less formal as Christmas neared.  So, I am sorry but I dont have much more to post for weeks 3 & 4 of Advent. There are two books I want to recommend, though.  I have always had a love for children's literature and it is so much fun to come across (more)
First Day After Break  by MomOfFab4
Today was a great day!  We got back into our routine after our Christmas Break and we all had a good time.  We didn't have any meltdowns and everyone got their work done along with some fun. I was beginning to worry that Legs was getting shortchanged and not getting enough mommy time all by herself.  I offered an idea and she jumped on it.  Now I am getting up at 6 to get my shower and do my hair before anyone else in the house gets up and Legs is setting her own alarm at 7.  I will admit that (more)
Does a Humphrey Bogart Come with This?  by Sagerats
I thought this looked fun so, I did it. It was only 2 questions. Your result for Are You a Jackie or a Marilyn? Or Someone Else? Mad Men-era Female Icon Quiz... You Are an Ingrid! You are an Ingrid -- "I am unique" (it took a quiz to tell us that?) Ingrids have sensitive feelings and are warm and perceptive. How to Get Along with Me * Give me plenty of compliments. They mean a lot to me. * Be a supportive friend or partner. Help me to learn to love and value myself. (more)
Picture of the Day 5/365  by Jenne
Today we started school again.  Bookworm did fine.  Misterman only cried one, when he forgot to read the instructions to a set of math problems and did them all incorrectly and had to redo them.  Bunny cried about having to do things he didn't want to (his school work took 20 minutes WITH the crying!) And then we went to Park Day.  It was wet and cold and drizzly.  The kids had fun.  I got cold.  The other Moms are fun to be around.  I hope we make next week's Park Day too. Today's picture:  Sand Castles  (more)
Friend of God - what am i doing?  by mamazee
I'm just thinking i could maybe explain what i am doing... All of the sudden all these posts about being a friend of God. One thing is that it's my word of the year, but another is that a friend wanted me to write down what i find this year as i seek God's definition of friendship - and i told her i would. Unfortunately, i tend to scratch around and around and i know these posts are pretty wordy.  But what i'm doing is using my prayer /Bible journal as a base - i'm actually leaving things out! I'm posting each day a (more)
A friend of God January 2 09  by mamazee
Zechariah 8:16 These are the things that ye shall do; Speak ye every man the truth to his neighbour; execute the judgment of truth and peace in your gate. And let none of you imagine evil in your hearts against his neighbour; and love no false oath: for all these are things that I hate, saith the Lord. Zechariah 9:9 9Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion; shout, O daughter of Jerusalem: behold, thy King cometh unto thee: he is just, and having salvation; lowly, and riding upon an ass, and upon a colt the foal of an ass. Zechariah 9:12 12Turn you to the strong (more)
All Motion, All the Time  by cathmom
Our pediatrician predicted when Brogan was three months old that he would be crawling by six months.  He just turned five months, and has been lifting his chest off the ground.  Today I saw him briefly get up onto his knees as well.  He is already doing that moving backwards thing, and can roll competently too. As soon as he figures it out, he will be after those three little boys who run around constantly, and then it will be - ALL MOTION, ALL THE TIME!!!! Can't wait! (insert slight sarcastic tone there) I know that I am really, truly, honestly, totally (more)
Sports Resolutions for the New Year  by The Freund's
Sports Resolutions for the New Year Steve Burchett Whether you play, coach, or just watch, sports are a means of both glorifying God and sinning against Him. Choose the resolutions below that you are prepared to follow, tell the Lord what you are committing to, and ask Him for the strength to succeed. You may want to write your resolution(s) in your Bible and refer to them throughout the year. I will be quicker to read my Bible than the sports section/website. Psalm 119:130, "The unfolding of Your words gives light; It gives understanding to the simple." 2 Timothy 3:16-17, "All Scripture is inspired (more)
Happy New Year!  by carol
Happy New Year to everyone! We started back to school today (after approx. 4 weeks off for Christmas) and it was like pulling teeth!  Our children were somewhat resistant, and that's putting it nicely. We started week 12 of Exploring Countries and Cultures, which starts the continent of Europe. I was getting the pages ready for the Geography Game and decided I'd add the 'extra' countries on there. Well, I don't think Yugoslavia exists anymore, lol. And the map is difficult to read and decipher where all the boundaries are.  I think I figured it out! We've started receiving Voice of the (more)
Park Day  by Phenom-e-Mom
We went to the park today.  I met another mom there today. She has two kids - one 6 and another 3.  Of course she asked the usual question, "Are all of those yours?"  I only have 5 kids.  We're certainly not the Duggars, but by Southern California standards, 5 is the new 8 for sure. I really enjoyed chatting  with her.  My kids played with her kids and we talked mostly about Spain which is where she lived before moving to the U.S.A.  I was able to ask her to confirm some of the things I had learned about Spain (more)
