I never cared for the idea of "blogging".

Just saying the word does not impress me much.

However, it seems that since finding the TOS Blog Community things have really changed.

It has fanned the flame inside of me to put hand to keyboard a bit more or as I prefer pencil to paper.

I am not an English major that is for sure and when I blog I make error upon error and am no friend to grammar experts, but no matter...the Lord sees my heart, sees my desire, sees the reason for my blog and reads through all my mistakes.

He sees what matters most ...me.

Leave a testimony

"Your help with "The Siege of Western Civilization" really made a difference.

That DVD has become a hit, and we continue to get orders from parents who are home-schooling their children. And, as you know, we even managed to do some advertising in the magazine."

Three Things  by Java Mama
Found this interesting meme and thought I'd try it out this week. THIS week's theme/prompt is: TAILS - "Three Things" Tell three things you learned in 2008. You can list educational, moral, political, spiritual, physical, intellectual, mental.. anything you like. You can even do sets of threes if you're really ambitious. You can be as specific or general as you wish. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I learned some hard things (life is too short, friends who say they are friends aren't necessarily) I learned some nice things (attachment parenting really does work) and, being an extreme introvert, I learned some things about myself that I really probably didn't (more)
A New Meme  by Sandpiper
I'm joining a new meme hosted by The Homeschool Post. It's a photo meme that follows the letters of the alphabet. Now, I'm a 'photographer-wanna-be'.  It's a hobby that I've always wanted to get into and maybe I still will, when my kids are grown. But for now, I have my Olympus digital camera, that I've had for 3 years and I'm only just beginning to discover it's full potential.  And I also have a new camcorder(a Christmas gift from my in-laws) that I discovered takes great stills.  I may only post once a week.  If I make it through the alphabet in (more)
Topic of the week- 1/6/09  by Roots and Wings Homeschool Co-op
Happy New Year everyone! I hope your year is off to a great start! As another new year begins, I find myself evaluating many areas of my life and trying to prioritize, organize and yearn to enjoy Peace and Joy in every day. Today was one of those really good days with my boys...so in addition to being thankful for the peace and joy in my home today, I also had to ask myself...."what made it such a great day? Why were the kids much more cooperative today than on many other days?" And this led me to our Topic (more)
Help For Growing Families-Illness  by mommaofmany
My dear friend has four children four and under.  She is in the trenches of Littles-only parenting and it.is.hard!  Her children recently were ill for a couple of weeks.  It reminded me of a period of time that I'd rather forget. My five Lambies were 6 and younger.  I also had foster children.  They caught something that went round and round and round for THREE months.  It wasn't a simple runny nose or an annoying cough.  It was a puking thing.  Awful.  I had some throw up all over the place, every week, at least once, for three solid months.  (more)
He's getting it!  by Megan
We've just started Letter Of the Week with C. This week we're wrapping up the letter 'B'. We're so excited because he is starting to understand what letters are, they have a sound and he's learning the ASL signs for them as well. I thought that with his hearing loss, this would be much more difficult and to be honest, I've been very nervous about teaching him how to read. He actually said, "B, ball, ba ba ba" and then signed the letter B on his own. He's done this quite a bit with other 'B' words as well. I (more)
A B See Meme ~ 'B' is for ....  by BChsMamaof3
'B' is for BEAR!!! You know, the statuesque ones that you can rough and tumble with.... and pretend that you fought and survived a mauling incident with *grin*. But definitely not the 'Dennis the Menis' kind that we remember all to well! LOL. For more ABSee pics, check them out here. Blessings,  (more)
Teeth!  by Hobbitsmom
This weekend was an eventful one for our youngest who is 5.  He lost his first tooth.  It was the usual first tooth trauma - 'will it come out on its own or not'.  Daddy would tease him and he'd try oh so hard to wiggle that thing out.  Finally, Saturday night, he let me give it a go & POP! out it came.  We have the unspoken joke of the tooth fairy here.  Everyone knows it's Daddy, but everyone plays along.  The first tooth is always the big one financial wise & he wasn't disappointed.  It gave him something to (more)
Our Christmas  by Lynne
Here are some pictures from our Christmas (the one we celebrated at our house with just the kids).  It would be nice to be able to celebrate one time and then be done.  I think we end up 'doing' Christmas about 4 times--it's a bit overwhelming and time-consuming.  But, anyway, here they are... He WALKS  by Mamaforhim
Hey everyone!  Elijah walks... well, he CAN walk... he's still crawling as his preferred method of transportation, but he's choosing to walk a bit more each day without coaxing! I just put the January tape into our video recorder, so I will catch some footage and post it as soon as possible! I have  13 movie tape things that go into the recorder and they are each labeled with a month of the year. At the end of the month, I dump those contents into imovie to be edited when I have time ( which I haven't had for 3 months!), rewind the (more)
Today, I took the time...  by Megan
Today was a great day for us. From the moment we woke up my boys were filled with anticipation for what would happen today. They've been looking forward to Grandpa and Grandma (Jeff's dad and step mom) coming to visit for quite a while. And today was the day!!! One of our struggles lately has been getting the boys to pick up their toys and without complaining when they're done with them. We want them to understand that messes are fine...we don't mind them at all because we know they're having fun. But, messes do also need to be cleaned (more)
Happy New Year!  by Lisa
You are probably wondering what happened lol!  No I didnt fall off the face of the earth, but the holiday season successfully sucked me in and held me hostage for a few weeks.  We had a little school and finished up our Advent learning, though the 'lessons' became less and less formal as Christmas neared.  So, I am sorry but I dont have much more to post for weeks 3 & 4 of Advent. There are two books I want to recommend, though.  I have always had a love for children's literature and it is so much fun to come across (more)
First Day After Break  by MomOfFab4
Today was a great day!  We got back into our routine after our Christmas Break and we all had a good time.  We didn't have any meltdowns and everyone got their work done along with some fun. I was beginning to worry that Legs was getting shortchanged and not getting enough mommy time all by herself.  I offered an idea and she jumped on it.  Now I am getting up at 6 to get my shower and do my hair before anyone else in the house gets up and Legs is setting her own alarm at 7.  I will admit that (more)
