Samut Saring Ceylon - A special virtual conference...

Tue 8 Jul 2008 - A special virtual conference...

Have you attended a homeschool virtual seminar before? I have and it was most helpful for me at the time I was almost at my wit's end. The Charlotte Mason for the 21st Century Virtual Seminar hosted by Cindy Rushton with guest speakers Jim and Sheila Carroll (Living Books Curriculum) was really a fantastic learning experience.

The amazing thing about living in a small island tucked away in the western part of Indian Ocean is that it isn't so isolated anymore. They are as "techie" here as people is the Western world.  With just a few adjustments on waking and sleeping hours (well,  I admit it was like having a mild jet lag after that LOL! ), a good computer, a reliable internet connection AND best of all, a teachable heart, I tell you it is all worth it and you don't even have to leave the comforts of your home.

Don't despair! If you have missed that one, you still have a chance to catch her at the next virtual seminar! Cindy is cooking up something special for homeschooling families and I want to share it with you. Below is Cindy Rushton's banner for the upcoming seminar and you might want to check it out. Cindy Rushton is a seasoned Christian homeschool mom. She taught her 2 children, Matthew and Elisabeth, at home. Matthew has already graduated from homeschooling and joined the military.

The topics are really helpful and full of encouragement. I have benefited greatly from the workshops.
If  it has been going rough lately in your homeschool scene, the you shouldn't miss this.

.. with Sheila/Living Books Curriculum, unfortunately I was just too sick to do it =(( I did use their 4th Grade Curriculum. I would have continued to do it for my eldest boy but they don't have 5th grade yet at that time. I like it as it is all organized for you, right in your hands & the books are all provided. I love AO but it is still challenging for me to get it all together ready for the school year. My boy is really learning good & I'd like to do it all the way to HEO. You are probably more expert to this homeschooling stuff than I do.. haha!

Blessings to you too...

Hi there!! Thanks for visiting my new blog!! I will keep this one too, but more than likely will post regularly on the other one! Are you still homeschooling through the summer? Do you know what curriculum you will use for the new year? I felt so burnt out from this last school year, so we are really enjoying the time off right now. I'm going to check out that link you have on your post, too!! I hope all is well with you!!!! Blessings, Alicia http://minyards7.blogspot.com/

That's great that you have that resource available to you. Sometimes in the USA were take for granted all the homeschool resources we have and forget how it can be much more difficult for our friends in foreign countries.

That does sound like fun. Even for those of us who are not far from a convention it is sometimes very hard to leave our kiddos and get there. Thanks for sharing.
Blessings,
