The Ocean

Posted on Apr. 27, 2007 at 7:15 PM

When I look at the ocean it makes me think of how majestic and magnificent God is. He loved us so much that He sent His only Son to die on the cross in our place and rise from the dead!

What a wonderful Father is our Father in Heaven. :)

"Thine, O LORD, is the greatness and the power, and the glory, and the victory, and the majesty: for all that is in heaven and in the earth is thine; thine is the kingdom, O LORD, and thou art exalted as head above all."

California Vacation

Posted on Apr. 5, 2007 at 8:23 PM

- - -

I have been absent from my blog for about a month, we were preparing for a vacation to California to see my Uncle and Aunt.

We were very busy, cleaning the house, arranging for our animals to be cared for while we were gone, shopping for clothing, making clothing, etc...

These are some entries from my traveling journal that I wrote on the way to California.

March 23, 2007

“Therefore I tell you, Do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat, or what you will drink; ....” Matthew 6:25

All of our family is in our white van. The back of the car is filled up with suitcases, pillows, sheets, and bags, while the rest of the car is occupied with more bags, cases and other various items. It is 12:34pm we are on out way to San Diego California to Aunt __ and Uncle __’s house. We are to stay at their house from tonight (Friday night) until Monday. On Monday we will be checking into a room at the “Bahia Resort”. We will be staying there until Thursday night and we are to go home on Friday ...

... We are 326 miles from San Diego. 1:14pm We are going through the desert. There is a lot of saguaro cactus in the desert. I am very tired and I keep yawning so it is not hard to keep my ears unplugged. There are clouds above us and they are so beautiful. :) I must let Rebekah read now.

It is 320 miles until San Diego.

290 miles until San Diego, it is 1:42pm.

Yuma is 62 miles ……… 2:20pm.

We are driving through Yuma and it is 3:03pm, we still have about 3 hours to go.

We are in California …… :) We think that we might see some of the sand dunes. This is such a fun trip. :) I believe they are the sand dunes, the sun is on them and they are pretty.

We can now see the sand dunes up close, they are so beautiful. :)

The Sand dunes are so pretty. They look so smooth and bumpy at the same time. They are so beautiful. They would make wonderful pictures. They look like you could run your hand on them and they would feel like silk or flannel. :)

Now we are passing by some dirty sand mountains.

We just passed a beautiful sand dune that was so smooth and deep. It is 4:00pm.

We are going through a very bumpy part of the road as my writing might suggest. There are little bushes all over that are a brownish green-gray. 4:19pm.

We are to pass through more mountains before we get to California but there are none in sight so we must still have a long way to go.

It is 118 miles until we get there.

I can see mountains, they are almost hidden in fog. 4:40pm.

….there is green on the mountains! They are so neat.

We are looking at some large different windmills.

It is getting very green. :) 5:22pm

There are green mountains everywhere, they are so beautiful. 5:39pm

It is 43 miles until San Diego :) Yay!

The Mountains are beautiful, but there is mist everywhere or maybe it is fog?

The mist is blowing. it is 52 degrees. I cannot sketch any more pictures of the mountains, for the mountains, seem to be gone.

Mom said the mist might actually be clouds.

It is neat to be in the clouds, or mist, but kind of scary to not to be able to see the way before you. All I can do is to pray for safety.

San Diego 37 miles. 5:47pm

We ARE in the clouds :) It is so neat. :)

We are in San Diego! :) Yay!

We are going to drive by the ocean and then go to Aunt __’s House.

We are looking for their house……

We are here! 6:39pm.

Mexican Sunflower

Posted on Feb. 19, 2007 at 4:12 PM

- - -

This Summer we grew a Mexican Sunflower in our backyard. It is a very unique and beautiful orange- red sunflower plant. The stem, flower stems and leaves had a thin very soft layer of fuzz in place of the usual torn like prickles. The leaves of the plant were very big and had the appearance that bugs had eating off of them. The plant grew very tall but it was not very sturdy, a wind storm blew it down. The flowers did not last very long after opening, within 3 days they had started to decay.

I really liked this sunflower plant. It produced many flowers. I got a lot of nice pictures of it. Here is one of them below:

Our Garden

Posted on Dec. 8, 2006 at 4:25 PM

- - -

We have a pretty big garden that goes all along the back and part of the left side of our brick fence. We have 10 rose bushes in our backyard: a pale yellow tea, pink-white, orange-pink, Granada-multi color, Queen Elizabeth-pink, Gold Glow-yellow, John F Kennedy-white, orange-yellow and Mr. Lincoln-red. The places between rose bushes have several patches of white irises, 6 scented geraniums plants, 2 daisy yellow plants, 2 pink poinsettia, 1 white petunia, several different colored patches of vinca flower plants, pepper plants (1 anaheim green chili pepper, 1 jalapeρo pepper and 1 bell pepper), and 2 volunteer plants that we do not know what are.

Our back and front yards have lots of grass and trees. We have 5 fruit trees in our back yard: Variegated pink Eureka Lemon, AZ Sweet Orange, Fairchild Tangerine, plum, and Dorsett Golden Apple.

Out front we have 2 big beautiful green ash trees and a large ficus. We love all the leaves that fall from the Ash trees in the Autumn and Winter.  We also have 7 more rose bushes.

I love to take pictures and most them are of our garden, I am very thankful God has blessed us by letting us have such a big beautiful garden.

A Tomato Hornworm

Posted on Oct. 31, 2006 at 12:46 PM

- - -

One day, in the late afternoon, as the summer sun blazed down on the world I walked past our bell pepper plant. As I stopped and bent down to get a closer look, I saw a little tomato hornworm eating at the leaves. I gently picked it up and ran to the house to show my Mom, who was on the computer and then took a lot of pictures of it. Here are two of the nicest ones.
