Butterflies

Sometimes as homeschool moms we make teaching so complicated. What curriculum should I use? How early should I start? Should I get some kind of training? The truth is, we are teaching our kids all the time and sometimes the best curriculum is nature itself. The other day I sat outside and watched my son and daughter chase butterflies and dragonflies. We saw yellow, orange and white butterflies. Red and brown dragonflies and a small platoon of ants carrying an insect much larger than all of their little bodies combined. In those few moments, they had learmed about colours and shapes, hard work and determination, they got lots of exercise and most importantly they had fun! Isn't that what it's all about? Learning is fun! So let's make the most of each moment! |
