Nov. 6, 2006 - Going Into Our Third Week

We are now going into our third week.  It is so amazing how much more quality time we have with our children.  I've always said it seems as though everyone else has more time with our kids than we do.  Guess what....I was right.  I never really realized that was actually true until here recently.

In the past two week we have rode the four wheeler, played outside, baked, and just jumped in the truck for a ride to look around......a Sunday evening stroll in the middle of the week.  Imagine that! :)   We've always done these things but it seems that in the past they have been few and far between.  We are now able to do the things we enjoy just about everyday, at least at some point.

My husband is going to have to do some local work until it is time for us to go out of state to work.  We pray that it does not call for any overnighters.  It has been a wonderful blessing to have him at home with us everyday and I am sure we would have a hard time getting used to him being away from home again.......if it comes to that.  Pray with us.

I have finally chosen a curriculum and have ordered it.  It looks as though I will receive it Wednesday.  We are very excited.  Maybe it is only because I am so new to this but I have worried that maybe I'm not doing enough or what I should be doing.  I have hopes that this will give me a little more comfort that we are on the right track.

Alexa has just informed me she is getting up early and getting her work done so we can go outside to play.  She's catching on! :)

I think we will start our day tomorrow with some muffins for breakfast.  We love them.
What a Wonderful Life!
Blessings To You All!

I'm so glad to hear that you're all enjoying homeschooling life! I think that we all wonder at times if we are doing enough, or what we should be doing etc. I think I pushed Emily too hard during her preschool/kindergarten years. I've learned to relax a lot more and have fun...we learn more that way anyway. The important thing is that you follow God's leading and do what you feel is best for your family. God bless you in your homeschooling adventure!

I'm so glad to hear that you are enjoying your children so much! I was worrying a great deal about failing my daughter, but (as I wrote in my recent blog) God really showed me that I need to relax & enjoy the time. It's so funny. I enjoyed every moment of time I've had with her until I started homeschooling full force...then I panicked & started freaking out over whether or not I was doing a good job. I'm relaxing now & we had a great day today! She accomplished twice as much as I had planned, and smiled & laughed through the whole day!

I'll pray for your husband's work situation. My husband was home with us for a while in between jobs & it was a hard adjustment on my little girl when he went back to work (he was her playmate). But she now understands that he has to work so that she has food to eat & lights to see in the dark:-)

Blessings to you!

what an awesome testimony of your days with your children. YOU sound like a wonderful mom. I tell people all the time..... if my children went to school "what would I do? I would miss them terribly" I am so glad they are home with me.

I love the pic. My little boys would love that little car your littles are on... my boys call it a "voom voom"

LOL
blessings,
Teena
