Something Amazing!!

Okay so you must be wondering why I have these flags up there....

Or have you smart people figured it out?

YES!

You are correct!

It's official!

Tickets are booked!

Passports located!!

We're traveling!

Finally, the long awaited trip to Germany is taking place at the end of May! We are being blessed to spend 1 week traveling the German countryside and scoping out the bases, EATING and shopping!!! I am so freakin' excited I can hardly contain myself! Joe was able to spend a week in Germany in February and he LOVED it! He said the people are so nice and friendly, and the food was the best food he'd ever eaten (Shnitzel here I come!), the prices are more wallet-friendly as the Euro is closer to the US dollar than the British Pound..I just can't wait!

Even Julia is all excited about it! Everyday, several times a day now, since we've booked the tickets, she says, "hey mommy....we're going to mermannny!!" I feel bad I keep having to explain to her we can't go today, we have to wait a few more weeks, but yes we are going to "Ger-Many!" They were still so young when we went to Spain last year that this is the first time I have been able to have my kids understand and actually SHARE our excitement! (ok, not so sure if Megan understands as Julia does, but she doesn't hesitate to tell me over and over we're going to "mermammy" too!)

I am only nervous about the morning sickness, b/c I am still having bouts of being sick, and well, an hour drive to the airport, 2 hour flight, and 2 hour drive from the airport doesn't sound so great to someone not doing too well with motion, but it's GERMANY for cryin' out loud! I'll tough it out! I'll drug myself! (with doctor's approval) I'll do something/Anything! I'm not missing out on seeing the world because of a silly queesy stomach! *scoffs* ...Even if that means my scrapbooking may take on a weird little twist for this journey, what normally would be smily cheesy photos of Joe and the girls in front of monuments, mountains, or sweet "storybook" German villages, may instead be pics of different bins with captions of "Here is the German bin Kristy puked in on the way to the hotel....Here is the reststop on the way to the London airport where Kristy puked.....Here is the side of the road where Kristy puked b/c she couldn't handle the Autobahn..." (yeah, something about a highway with NO speedlimits is a little frightening, like a living race course, but with no double harnesses or helmets or paramedics on stand-by....)...ah, but what an experince lol! As a dear friend told me the other day, "well, you'll diffinetly be leaving your mark around the world!"

OK....

so I know you're wondering....

what does an Italian Flag or Camels have to do with Germany?

Joe and I are taking a Mediterranean Cruise at the end of June!

We will be celebrating 6 years of marriage as well as my birthday! I am soooo excited about this because we will be traveling the same sea the apostles traveled! And I'm going to get to see so many really neat places all at once!!! I am just in awe over this because I have never expected us to be able to take a cruise like this! It feels like a dream!

In a little over a week we will get to see Majorca Spain (pictured above), Florence/Pisa/and Naples Italy, the Island of Corsica, Monte Carlo, and even stop off at a port off the tip of Africa (enter the camels! Think they'd let pregnant people ride?) I am so fricken excited! God is SO good!! I still have a dream to go to Greece, just something about getting to be where I know Paul once was just seems so very neat to me, and my other life-long dream is to see the Nile before I die....but for now, this is so very very awesome! If we end up staying overseas for our next tour, I know we will have more chances to travel again. But for now, not knowing what God has in store for us, we are doing what we can while we're here, trying our best to live with no regrets, and taking whatever God brings our way!

(Florence, Italy)

Next summer Joe may have to tdy and the summer after, will be our last one before moving again that fall, so this really may be our last chance to take advantage of traveling in this area! I am just so excited, and still find myself disbelieving it is actually happening! and you know me...I'm all about the food! Can't wait to really get to try German cuisine for myself and then the 24 hour buffets at the cruise! This little baby is going to be very well fed LOL! I'm going to have to make me a t-shirt that says, "The Baby wants a Gellato!" (Italian IceCream that everyone RAVES about!)

(Roman Centurian, Colluseum, and Corsica)

God is SO good!!

(All Photographs were googled)

sounds like fun. I still remember traveling when we were stationed overseas. Everthing was so close. Italy is beatuiful and the leaning tower of Pisa was amazing. I still have picts of my brother and I standing on different levels hugging on to the pliars! ( the stant was so much you really though it would be possible to slide off. ;-) but I believe they "fixed" or anchored the tower a few years back) Stay safe and have fun!!!! Danielle

About Me

I'm new at this, learning as I teach, teaching as I learn. I am mommy to 4 kiddos: Julia age 7, Megan age 6, Joey age 2, and Charlotte age 10 months. Our homeschool style is Eclectic at best, but gives stability to a family living overseas. I am always open to new ideas and ways to do things and enjoy the encouragement of others doing the same. Boring intro I know, but covers the basics me thinks. ;) Oh, and the picture above? It was from one of our very first homeschooling days in 2005. We let our two eldest kiddos (then 2 and 3 years old) fingerpaint with shaving cream on the dining table. It was lots of fun, and it left a super shiny table and a nice aloe scent to boot! ;)
