If you Give a Mom a Muffin...

Okay, this was just so darn cute I had to post this. I received it in an email for Mother's day. (I know a bitlate, but I just ran across it again and giggled and wanted to pass that giggle along)

If you give a Mom a muffin,
She'll want a cup of coffee to go with it.
She'll pour herself some.
The coffee will get spilled by her three year old.
She'll wipe it up.

Wiping the floor, she will find some dirty socks.
She'll remember she has to do some laundry.
When she puts the laundry in the washer,
She'll trip over some snow boots and bump into the freezer.
Bumping into the freezer will remind her she has to plan dinner for tonight.

She will get out a pound of hamburger.
She will look for her cookbook (101 Things to Make With a Pound of
Hamburger).
The cookbook is sitting under a pile of mail.
She will see the phone bill which is due tomorrow.

She will look for her checkbook.
The checkbook is in her purse that is being dumped out by her two year old.
She'll smell something funny.
She'll change the two year old.
While she is changing the two year old the phone will ring.
Her four year old will answer it and hang up.

She remembers that she wants to phone a friend to come for coffee on Friday
Thinking of coffee will remind her that she was going to have a cup.
She will pour herself some.
And chances are......
If she has a cup of coffee......
Her kids will have eaten the muffin that went with it.

I hope all of you had had very nice Mother's Days. I just wanted to mention real quickly one of the sweetest thigns Joe did for me (1 of many that day)...He revealed to me one of my gifts was a Tree planted in Memory of Isaiah. He found a company online and ordered through them. They will plant a tree in a public park somewhere int he state of oklahoma with a small plaque attached that says something to the effect of:

"For an Angel that was to be amidst us.

In memory of Isaiah Israel from your family"

Isn't that just so sweet? I never would have thought to do anything like that! We don't know what kind of tree it will be, when it will be planted or where it will go, but I am excitedly waiting the packet in the mail letting us know, and then you can all search it out for us and send pictures back to us. I am excited it will be enjoyed by many and will be regularly looked after and taken care of. It is also just one more thing to look forward to seeing whenever we visit. I will pass on more news when I have some. In the mean time...it's off to Germany for a week! I'll update more when we return!

About Me

I'm new at this, learning as I teach, teaching as I learn. I am mommy to 4 kiddos: Julia age 7, Megan age 6, Joey age 2, and Charlotte age 10 months. Our homeschool style is Eclectic at best, but gives stability to a family living overseas. I am always open to new ideas and ways to do things and enjoy the encouragement of others doing the same. Boring intro I know, but covers the basics me thinks. ;) Oh, and the picture above? It was from one of our very first homeschooling days in 2005. We let our two eldest kiddos (then 2 and 3 years old) fingerpaint with shaving cream on the dining table. It was lots of fun, and it left a super shiny table and a nice aloe scent to boot! ;)
