Science Link and Curriculum Ideas

Posted in Online Links

I am, once again, debating a packaged curriculum for the boys, at least for gavin.... it sounds like a nice idea, but it cost so much and I know I can do it for less money (just MORE TIME)

I found this site.It is full of sciene experiments and activities....

see... I don't need no stinkin' packaged curriculum.....

SCIENE CONNECTION PAGE

From the fron page:
These lesson plans were developed by Science Connectors or modified by Science Connectors from existing activities. These activities cover a range of grade levels, but most of them may be easily modified to fit individual classroom use. We welcome anyone to print them and use them in their classrooms.

INTRODUCTION TO SCIENCE
Explore what makes a scientist!

BIOLOGY
These labs cover neuroscience, general anatomy and physiology, and environmental science and animal biology.

EARTH SCIENCE
Includes labs on earth science topics like erosion!

CHEMISTRY
These labs cover basic chemistry concepts such as freezing point, moles as a type of measurement, oobleck and glurch, and metals and non-metals.

PHYSICS
Currently includes projects involving electricity, buoyancy, and light.

MATH
This lab uses candy to learn about probability!

I found a few sites on teaching scientific notation and it's uses (something I decided I wanted the boys to understand) and I have downloaded some Dioramama Projects (something I have always wanted to do, but never got to...) and I have that cool Enchanted Learning Membership......
