Actually nothing new today.Brian is down there with Manuel today and a 'sandía'. (watermelon)

We were both down there Friday. Manuel was sitting up in the chair when we got there. he soon asked to go back to the bed. He asked me to help him with the blanket. I only got one word and his pointing to the blanket. I think he said 'coveira' or something.

Before the nursehelped him back on bed she asked a couple times if he had to use the bathroom. They are making him walk  to the bathroom in his room.(well, drag with his walker at a snails pace. It looks quite painful). He said no a couple times, so she helped him into bed. (set the walker in front of him). He gets into bed and looks at us like "isnt anyone going tohelpme???). Funny- he didn't look at the nurse like that. I think he was hoping we'd feel sorry for him and help him, unlike the drs and nurses who are trying to get him to do more onhis own.

The nurse left. Brian stepped out to see another little boy who is burnt almost all over. Only ihis front torso and face are unburnt. He will be in there for quite a while growng his own skin gratfs on chest. They will take a couple layers for one part of his body then wait a few weeks for him to heal enough to take a couple more layers from the same spot... do that until he has enough skin grafted onto his burns. Brian wants to take him too. Obviously BRIAN isn't the one here every day CLEANING  Manuel's burns. I can;t do TWO kids!

Anyway...... in about 15 minutes Manuel points to his hospital tray thingy and i push it over to him. He grabbed the hand held urinal and takes down his covers and does his thing. I got the nurse who was a bit upset at his sneakiness in gettingout of walking to the bathroom..... and kinda chuckled and told me he'll be sneaky at my house, too.

I just got a phone message from Brian. He was planning on leaving at 5:30 to come home, but they were doing his bath at 6. So he stayed for that. The should be done there around 6:45. I expect he'll be home by about 8. I'll be interested to hear how the bath went. How much of a fight it'll be.
