Yesterday, since Mark was off, we decided to take a field trip to the San Antonio Zoo.

This is the first time Aundrea and Leo have visited this zoo.  (We did visit the San Diego Zoo in 2004 so Leo would have been to young to remember).

Needless to say,  he was excited to visit all these animals he has been studying in  his Science.  The African animals were among his favorite animals to see.  He was thrilled to come this close to the animals he "colored".

He wanted to see the Giraffe, but it was hiding in the barn so Leo didnt' get to see this long necked animal up close. (maybe next time)

Watching the animals were the best part-especially the kangaroos. Yes, I have to agree with the kangaroo in the picture below.....yesterday was a perfect day to relax and let the crowds of people watch you.

Leo can hardly wait to visit the zoo again. Our next field trip will be to Sea World. We just have to wait until it opens for the season.
