In loving memory of my lovely grandmother who died today, Monday March 2, 2009 at about 10:30am. She would have turned 79 on her birthday-the end of this month and would have celebrated her 62 anniversary this year. (my grandfather is still alive)
My grandmother was a wonderful person. She taught me how to cook and sew. Quilting, cooking and spending time with her family were some of her favorite pasttimes. You would frequently see her quilts in contests in which she won several. I'll have to post pictures of her quilts later. Did I mention that she is a GREAT cook!! She loved to cook and I'll never forget her homemade bread and homemade cherry pie. Growing up on a farm, you would expect just about all your food to be homemade and it was delicious!! The last time I saw my grandmother was 2 years ago during our brief visit with my grandparents en route to Italy. I am so thankful we took the time to visit with my grandparents at that time. Never in my wildest dreams, did I think this would be the last time I would see my grandmother. She lived a wonderful life until congestive heart failure just took a toll on her body. I did get to talk to her on the phone a few days before she became one of God's angels. These pictures were take 2 years ago, the last time I saw her. Rest in peace grandma. I'll miss you!!
