Sep. 10, 2007 - Monday Menu Plan

My husband and I have recently set up a monthly budget- this means I have to better plan my menu for the week. He has been bugging me for a while to do so. He was very excited when I found a personal finance planner at Wal-mart that helps us keep track of our finances and helps us set up budget. I budgeted groceries at $90.00 a week. I may up it to $100.00. That may seem like allot to some of you, but believe it or not, sometimes I wonder if it's enough! We don't buy 'junk' food whatsoever- that means no chips, pop, little debbies or sweets, ect. We pretty much buy ingredients for our meals of the week, lunch foods, breakfast foods, fruits and veggies and our water- that's about it! It takes allot to feed a family of five these days! :P
So here is my menu!

Monday
Crock pot spaghetti and salad.
(I'm going to a salad supper at church- I'm bringing Italian pasta salad)

Tuesday
Chicken tacos

Wednesday
Chicken Patties and tater tots (pretty healthy meal there...).

Thursday
Chimichangas and salad- YUM!

Friday
Homemade pizza night-ya!

Saturday
My Grandpa's 80th birthday party- eating out! :)
(This is budgeted in 'dining')

Sunday
Crock pot Lemon Garlic Chicken, rice and green beans
(some of the best chicken I've ever eaten)

Now let's see if I stick to it! Lol! ;)

Sep. 6, 2007 - Hmm...

Today I received a call that Noah's labs were a bit off. We had them drawn Tuesday after seeing his Endocrinologist. His potassium and sodium levels were fine, but his bicarbonate levels were low. Huh? He has never had 'this' problem! It was always high potassium and low sodium that we were concerned about - I never heard anything about bicarbonate before! I didn't even know that was an electrolyte! Anyway, I'm really hoping it was just a fluke and the tests they run tomorrow will turn out to be fine. I definitely don't want to spend any more long days in the hospital! I despise seeing my baby being poked, handled, and prodded! I know allot of parents have spent allot more time in the hospital with a sick child then I probably ever will and I look up to those people with absolute awe in their ability to 'cope' with it all. I have had just a glimpse of what they go through day in and day out...it's not easy seeing your baby in pain. Luckily, Noah appears to be fine. He's happy and he is developing very well! He looks to be healthy and thriving. I have a peace that it isn't going to amount to anything too bad. If anything at all. He's not going to like having to be 'stuck' again though! He also has to have a urinalysis- yeah...what fun...sigh...poor baby. Anyway, just thought I'd let you in on this little bit of news. Please pray everything will be fine- I would greatly appreciate it! :)

Here's a picture of my little guy that I thought my sister would enjoy- don't worry though, Cassandra, I'm sure 'your' kids wouldn't do it to Chloe! ;)
I love the red eyes...

Aug. 30, 2007 - Yummy bread and my son's creativity!

I made homemade bread yesterday and it actually turned out!!! Ya for me! I found a recipe while blog hopping and just had to try it- since I had nothing better to do! :) It is very tasty, if I do say so myself! Here is a picture of my accomplishment- I'm pretty proud!

Also today while doing phonics with Jonathan, Austin decided to get a little creative with his Cars markers.
              Front View
               Back View
                Right Leg                Left Leg
Luckily it's washable! I'd rather him write on himself than on my walls! That would be bad, considering we're renting and they're pretty strict about upkeep.

Well, that's about all I have for now- not a whole lot going on this week. My sister, Courtnie, is coming over with her new little guy to stay until tomorrow. They will be here any minute so I gotta run! I hope to get back on here again before the week is done. Until then- take care!

Aug. 28, 2007 - I've been tagged!

Wa-ho! I have been tagged for the very first time! I will try my best at answering the questions... :)

1.What is your school's name and why?

Well, we don't 'officially' have a name yet...I guess I never really thought about it much. Maybe something like 'The K***** school for boys'...I don't know...I guess I'll have to discuss this with my husband! Lol!

2. How is your weather today?

Looks pretty sunny out! A perfect day for a bike ride!

3. What steals your joy?

Maybe lack of sleep and my over sensitivity to things. I tend to read into things people say or do and I am WAY to easily hurt! I am seriously praying about this and trying to improve myself- with God's help!

4. Name 5 blessings you received this week.

Hmmm...this will take some thinking! It's only Tuesday! :)

    1. We met with our Pastor and the deacons Sunday to see about joining the church! I was so happy when my husband approached our Pastor about it. I had been wanting to join for some time, but was waiting for him to make the move!

2.I got to go to a baby shower for a woman at our church and fellowship with other ladies.

3.My husband made it home to watch the kids for me!

4.I still have a roof above my head!

5.I was able to purchase fabric 50% off at Wal-Mart Sunday! Unfortunately it's because they are getting rid of there fabric department! :(

I'm sure I will have more blessings before the ending of the week!

5. Favorite Scripture passage.

Psalm 56:3
"What time I am afraid, I will trust in thee."

It's a simple verse, but yet has so much meaning in it! For some reason this has always been a verse I tend to repeat over and over again! I've had some scary times in my life and this has ALWAYS helped me to turn all my fears and worries over to the Lord!

 6. Who in the Bible do you think you are most like?

Hmmm...I really haven't thought about it. I might have to back to you on that one!

7. The passage of scripture you read last was:

Proverbs 13:1

"A wise son heareth his father's instruction: but a scorner heareth not rebuke."

Oh how I need to apply this to my life!

8. Have you ever praised God for something weird?

I'm sure I have. I do weird things- so I'm sure it has happened. I think I've praised him before for green stop lights when I'm running late at getting somewhere. Does that constitute as weird?

9. If you were making a greeting card for God, what would you say?

Well, I would definitely be sending him allot of 'Thank you' cards, but I also think I'd be sending him allot of 'I'm Sorry' cards too!It would say something along the lines of, "I'm sorry I have sinned again and disappointed you. Please forgive me!", and then, "Thank you for loving me in spite of all  my short comings!".

10. What is the best miracle God has performed in your life, or what is you favorite answered prayer?

There has been so many! The most recent (major one) would probably be when Noah was in the hospital. God answered our prayers by healing him and allowing him to grow and regain his health. He is now a very active baby and thriving developmentally and physically!

11. What is the most fun thing you have done lately?

I went to a baby shower last night! That was allot of fun.We also went to our church picnic last Saturday and that was allot of fun also. We lead a pretty 'boring' (compared to some) life and the little things we do make us happy! :) I do have some 'fun' things coming up too! Next month- we go to the largest fair in the state, I have our ladies' annual soup and salad dinner, Tim and I take a three day trip to Chicago (wa-ho), and I get to go to a ladies' retreat!I'm looking forward to the month of September!

12. How did you choose your screen name?

Raising Three Little Men- I think it is pretty self-explanatory! :)

*I don't know how it happened that 'TS92901' comes up also. I was disappointed when I saw that it was doing that. I definitely didn't want people knowing me by 'that' name! I thought when I put that in it was only to log in...grrr...*

Now...choose five people to tag.

Aug. 27, 2007 - Sewing fun...

I thought I'd show you all the diaper bag I made this morning for a lady in our church. The shower is tonight so I was pushing it pretty close (to my deadline...). I was luckily able to finish it in three hours. I started at 8:00 a.m. and finished it at 12:00 p.m. I think it turned out okay. I would've rather done the bag with the velcro closure ,but my hubby likes the zipper closure better and wanted me to use this pattern instead- so I did.  Anyway, here are some pictures of it- what da' ya think?

The side profile- I added flowers to the top of the pocket- I thought it was cute. :)

Here is the inside, it includes three pockets.

I thought I'd show you where I do all my sewing- in the corner of our bedroom! It gets pretty crowded, but until we find a three bedroom house this will just have to do. The first picture is of my sewing machine. I'm am very blessed to have this machine. My hubby sold a piece of machinery he had in order to buy me this. We bought it second hand  and we still paid a pretty penny for it! It's a Husqvarna Viking Designer 1; it does embroidery and has a color touch screen- it pretty much has a little, mini computer in it. It's awesome! What can I say, I have a wonderfully thoughtful husband! ;)

Here is a look of my little 'sewing corner'. It gets pretty messy when I'm in the progress of sewing something...

This is the large pile of 'projects' I still have yet to start, and I have allot more where this came from! Notice the serger my husband bought me on clearance at Wal-Mart. It's cheap, but it does a pretty good job. I'm just thankful I have one!

One more thing before I go- look who I got to watch Saturday evening!
Isn't she gorgeous and sooo tiny?! She is three weeks old now and most likely still weighs under six pounds. She is in preemie clothing and they are still too big! Anyway, my brother-in-law took her mother out to dinner and I got to have her for the evening! I hope I get to see more of her- she was an absolute joy to have!

Well, I think that's all I have for today! Hope you all have a wonderful day! :)

Aug. 24, 2007 - Am I a terrible mother?

Jonathan's phonics was a killer today- he did six pages of writing, most were sentences! Now, I don't know if I'm mistaken, but is it 'normal' to be doing this kind of work not even three weeks into the first year of school? I mean the kid just started kindergarten! This seems more like first grade work to me...maybe I'm wrong, I don't know. I guess he can do it, so we will just keep pushing on ahead. Here a few pictures of what he's been doing. Tell me what you think...complicated or not?

So, after a LONG morning of phonics,a teething baby, and my two eldest fighting like cats and dogs (or more like- a cat and a dog), I've done the unthinkable and set my children in front of this-

So my question is- am I terrible mother for doing this totally horrendous thing, using the....awww....gasp....t.v. as a....gasp....sigh....babysitter?!

*As a side note- we don't have television coming in to our home. Our children only watch previously viewed and approved videos. They also rarely watch them in their bedroom. Mommy just needed some 'alone' time.*

Aug. 23, 2007 - A blog about things...

I thought I'd share a few pictures with you all. First off, I never introduced my newest little nephew, my sister did in a round about way at It's a Wonderful Life, but I have yet to do so. He was born last Friday at 8:46 a.m. (aprox. time) and weighed in at 7 lbs. 1 oz. (smallest baby in our family so far) and was 20 inches long. My sister did great for her first baby. Her water broke at 2:00 a.m., she was pushing by 8:34 ish and had him about 12 minutes later! Anyway, here are some pictures I snapped last Friday at the hospital.  The pictures didn't come out as well as I had hoped- the lighting was really bad and these were about the best I could get.
Sorry, this one I forgot to rotate, but you get the basic idea...
Don't mind my appearance in this one- I had already driven three hours that day! I was already exhausted and I still had to drive two hours home! That's another story...for another day. :)

I thought I'd share some pictures of my youngest niece, Chloe Elizabeth. She is my older sister Cassandra's
youngest. She is only two months old in these pictures and look at what a cute little porker she's become! She has already  doubled her birth weight (plus some)! She was so good about giving her favorite aunt good smiles...I think she liked (likes) me!
Okay, so in this one she's not smiling, but I had to add it anyway because it shows just how big she is. Did I mention she only nurses? That's some rich milk momma has!
One more- just cause she's so stickin' cute!

Look what my little Noah can do now!
Yep, that's right- he's standing all by himself! Not bad, for ten months! I'm thinking he'll be walking within a month or so. Boy, that kid gets into everything! His favorite thing to do lately (when mommy isn't paying attention) is to sneak into the bathroom and play in the toilet bowl. Uh-huh...yeah...it's pretty disgusting, especially when it's usually not flushed. He always gets a good washing after that! Hey, maybe that's why he does it...hmmm...anyway, here is one more of him standing all by himself. He's getting so big!

Here are a few pictures of what my two youngest children do while I'm doing school with Jonathan. Hey, it keeps them entertained and out of trouble, right?!

Here are a few pictures of the newest diaper bag I made for Noah. It's a new pattern that I altered a bit. I think I like it. It's allot less time consuming than the bags I make with zipper closures.  Plus, it gave me something new to do. I think it turned out pretty cute- what do you think?
The side 'profile'...
The 'velcro' closure- much easier than a zipper! Kind of blurry, but you get the idea, right?

Last, but definitely not least- here are some pictures of my crazy children (two older boys). Oh, how I love the children God has given my husband  and I! I do not deserve them! Notice the broken hand cuffs on Jonathan's ankle...this kid is a character- you never know what he is going to say or do next!
I had to throw this in here. He was trying really hard to look mean and scary...aw...he makes me smile...
Well, I think that about does it for today! Now that I have a photo bucket account I'll be sharing more photos than I used to. I just love pictures! Well, I hope you all have a wonderful day- I'm off to take a much needed (wanted) nap! :)

Aug. 20, 2007 - Hmmm...

Just wanted to let you all know that Mondays are definitely not usually good days for me. I don't know if it's from waking up to a messy house, piles of dirty laundry, or just getting in to our 'groove' again. We tend to throw our normal daily routine out the window when my wonderful hubby is home. It's so nice to have a day to sleep in and just enjoy being a family. All thoughts of laundry and keeping house (like I normally keep it) are put aside- I just love doing nothing but talking my hubby's ear off. He works allot during the week and we don't see much of him so it's really nice to be able to spend a day with him when possible. Most times he doesn't even get Saturdays off. This week he did- wa-ho! We had fun, even though we did pretty much nothing of any real importance. It was still nice just to have him around. :) By the way, he is taking me away for our anniversary next month and I'm pretty excited about it. We were talking last night and we are thinking of taking a trip to Chicago. My whole life I have always lived within a few hours of Chicago and I have yet to stay in Chicago, shop in Chicago, and eat in Chicago. Well, we plan to do all of it! My husband has a few restaurants he wants to try out- Harry Carry's and Ralph Lauren (he was told they- that is Ralph Lauren's- have some nice woodworking...). He also mentioned the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, but I think I'd rather go see a play. We'll have to see what's showing...! I am really looking forward to this trip because we hardly ever get away (alone) and we have never taken anything even remotely close to what you would call a 'vacation'. We still will only be gone maybe three days, but we actually have plans to actually 'do' something while are gone- and maybe even spend some...I don't know...money? We'll see...anyway I gotta run now. I have counters  to wipe and floors to vacuum and mop! Oh, the excitement of it all! :)

~By the way, I have no idea how I got from talking about Mondays to taking our trip...I think very randomly...lol!~

Aug. 14, 2007 - Baked Oatmeal...

Just thought I'd share with you all a wonderful recipe I found and made today for breakfast! I am in desperate need to do some grocery shopping, but since our paycheck has been delayed by several days (joys of running your own business) I have had to make do with what we've had on hand. Something I rarely do because I'm usually able to run to the store any time I need something (God is good to us...). Anyway about all we had was oatmeal and I wanted to make something other than just your ordinary oatmeal you make in a pot. So I went to my favorite recipe source All RecipesI found this wonderful looking recipe and tried it out. All I have to say is Yums sa yums!!! It's awesome with a little milk poured on top!

                                    Baked Oatmeal

1/2 cup vegetable oil                            3 cups quick cooking oats
3/4 cup white sugar                              1/2 cup raisins ( I used about 1
2 eggs                                                   cup chopped apples)
1 cup milk                                              2 tbs. brown sugar
1/2 tsp. salt                                           1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1 tbs. baking powder

1. Beat together oil and sugar. Mix in eggs, milk, salt, baking powder, and  oatmeal. Beat well then stir in raisins (or apples in my case). Pour into a lightly greased pie pan. Sprinkle with brown sugar and cinnamon.

2. Bake in preheated 350 degree oven for about 30 minutes or until firm.

3. Serve hot (we put milk on top of ours) and enjoy!

Give it a try and let me know what you think!

Aug. 6, 2007 - My garage sale finds!

I had to post some of my newest garage sale finds! I was able to get these end tables and coffee table for a great deal at a garage sale in a subdivision across the street from us. I was super excited! I got the end tables on a Friday  for $25 each and then my hubby took me the next Saturday to the same garage sale and we were able to get the coffee table for $10! I was tickled pink! I have been needing (wanting) end tables and a coffee table since we've been married. They match perfectly with our computer desk my hubby had made for me a few years ago. Did I ever tell you he was a master woodworker?! He's awesome at what he does you should check out some of his work at UniqueWoodcrafters

Anyway, here are the pictures of my newest additions to my home!

My $10 coffee table!

Aug. 6, 2007 - First day of school!

I'm now officially a homeschooling momma! We had our first day of school today- wa-ho! Jonathan was all pumped up and ready to go this morning! That excitement lasted until we were doing phonics and he started having problems writing his short  a's- he had to practice writing his lower case and upper case a's. He didn't know how to do them right and he gets easily frustrated if he doesn't know how to do something just perfect. So instead of practicing until he gets it he'd rather just forget about it all together. Well, that's just not an option anymore! I hope this gets easier rather than harder! I'm still excited though! He was having an easy time recognizing and distinguishing between  the upper A's and the lower a's. That in itself encouraged me a little bit. We just have to work on controlling his hand movements when writing- does that make sense?! I know I should have been working with him more before we even started school, but quite honestly I had been savoring my last few years of no school! I was being lazy. Hmmmm...sigh...shame on me...I know. Oh well, anyway Austin should be a little more prepared when we start school with him in a couple years. Being he sat right by me and colored while I was doing school with Jonathan. He's also my one that has an easier time sitting for longer periods of time. Jonathan and even Noah have a very hard time staying still. They have to be moving at all times! I don't understand them- I can sit and do 'nothing' for hours! Lol! :) Here are some pictures of Jonathan's first day of school!

Here he is quite frustrated at not being able to write 'perfect' a's...

Here are the books we are using this year- so far I like them...

Another thing I have been up to is trying to sew a  perfect all in one cloth diaper! I know my sister is going to think I have absolutely lost my marbles, but honestly I am sick and tired of spending hard earned money on disposable diapers! It costs us at least $40 a month! Plus the cloth diapers I have made so sticken cute it's not funny! They really seem to work too! I should give a pictorial tour on how I make one. I'm going to try and sew some today and I will 'try' to take pictures as I go. Anyway here are a couple pictures of my Noah trying one out. I couldn't get a very good picture but it gives you an idea of how cute they are!

I hope you have a wonderful day!

Jul. 31, 2007 - I will put something here soon! :)

                   I promise!

Jun. 7, 2007 - I know, I know I'm horrible at this...

Yes, I know I am a terrible blogger! I guess it is just not my thing. I love reading everyone else's blogs I just don't enjoy writing my own. I usually have something to say but I usually tell either my husband, sisters, mother-in-law, or my mother over the phone. Then I forget it. I never think of blogging about it. Well, maybe I do, but I'm way too lazy to ever get around to actually doing it. Like today when my boys were ever so carefully shaping their peanut butter and honey sandwiches into guns and having a war right at the kitchen counter (we use our kitchen counter instead of our table- easier cleaning). I thought to myself, "That might be a good blog entry". Or how about when Noah started crawling? Or the time Jonathan used so much toilet paper after having a 'movement' that it filled the toilet and had absorbed all the water in the bowl? Or when Jonathan smeared lotion over every square inch of his room? Or maybe even the time Austin smeared lotion all over the baby- head to toe-literally. Oh sure, there have definitely been several 'bloggy' moments. I just never get around to actually putting it down. Anyway, things have been going well. Noah is sixteen pounds now and on the charts! We also got the go ahead to start solid foods! Mommy and Noah are excited. Baby food is way cheaper than the formula he is on. I'm hoping his formula intake will be allot lower now. Noah has also been busy exploring the world around him. He is a very busy baby since learning to crawl (or 'army' crawl- at this phase). I'm just so thrilled that he is developmentally right  about where he is supposed to be.
Tim and I have been attending a new church. We really feel at home there. We've been going there now for about three months. A family from the church asked us over for dinner a few weeks ago and we had an excellent time. Sunday the mother  asked me and the kids over again for a play date. We went there yesterday and had a great time once again! I feel there are really some good people we can really get to know, which I'm pretty excited about because at the church we were attending prior to moving you didn't have a whole lot of 'closeness' -something I had wished there was more of. I can honestly say that I really never made any really close friends for the five years that we went to there. Sure, I could call some of them friends, but never anyone you could really call up and say, "hey, let's go do something today" or, "would it be alright if I came over to today- I need some company". I lived closer to family before though so it really didn't matter to me all that much. Our family was our friends. Now that we live further away from them though it's a little bit harder to be able to just drop everything and spend a day with them. We really need some close friends around us. I feel the Lord has sent us to a church where we (I) can have make some long lasting friendships. We are excited to see what the Lord has in store for us!
Here are a few snapshots of our boys. Hope you enjoy!
Jonathan - 1 month short of 5 years...
Austin 2 months short of 3 years...
Noah almost eight months old...

Apr. 26, 2007 - It's been a long time...

Yes, I know it has been forever since I've blogged. I told you I wasn't a very good blogger. Nothing really exciting has happened as of late. Noah is still doing great! He is up to 14lbs 10 oz. which puts him in the 10th percentile for his weight. Not so bad if I do say so myself. He has been trying to sit up but gives up way too easily.  He'd rather lay on his back and watch his two older brothers play. They sure do know how to entertain him! He does roll over really well. He doesn't like tummy time and almost immediately rolls over to his back when I lay him down on the floor. He'll never learn how to crawl if he keeps doing that! I'm very happy with his improvement and praise the Lord daily that we now know what was causing all his problems.
My other two boys are doing wonderful. They are just as busy as ever! Jonathan is very excited about starting school this August. I ordered his schoolwork at the home school conference so I was able to get it 20% off plus free shipping! I am going to do Alpha Omega's Horizons with him. My mother did it with my younger sister and brother and loved it. I find it to be very colorful and looks appealing to the eye- especially for a five year old. I have mixed emotions about starting school with him. On one hand I'm excited and on the other hand I'm a little apprehensive.
Well, that seems to be about all that is coming to me right now. I'm sure more has happened. There is never a dull moment with my boys. I wish I was like so many other women that could remember everything their children did and seem to always get it posted on their blog. By the time I think to do so I've forgotten what that funny thing was that they said or did. I have a terrible memory! Anyway I honestly will try to get back on here sooner than before. We'll see...

Mar. 23, 2007 - Update on Noah and other such happenings in my life...

I am blogging on behalf of my sister's (twmcrm2001) request. I really am not much of a writer. God just didn't give me that talent or desire.  Just like he didn't give me much musical talent either. Cassandra (twmcrm2001) is very talented in this area  along with my youngest sister, Bethany. My other sister, Courtnie, also plays and has gotten quite good. She just had to work a little harder than Cassandra or Bethany had to.  I would've had to of really worked at it too, I just didn't have the desire like she did or does. I do really enjoy sewing though. I really had to work at it to get any good. The difference between my sewing and music (playing the piano) is I always and still do have the desire to get better at sewing. I have much room for improvement! Anyway, enough of that. My main, real reason for not blogging lately is a lack of interesting things going on. I don't want to bore everyone. My life is pretty slow and unexciting. My hubby has been working allot of hours and my kids and I have been alone from 5 a.m. until about 8 p.m. We haven't had much money for gas or anything else so I pretty much have been staying in the house. Plus, taking out three boys under the age of  four isn't an easy task. :) We are also new to  the area so I am lacking in the friends department. We've been here going on four months and I still have yet to make one friend. Which is fine- life had been a little crazy with all of Noah's 'issues'. Now that everything is settling down though I am getting anxious to settle into a church and start making some life-long friends.
I am so excited that the cold weather is finally ending and spring is on it's way (it's officially here according to the calendar). My morale is always higher in the Spring and Summer. I love warm weather! Cold weather just makes me grouchy! Being trapped in the house with three little ones is hard for me. My honey usually tends to work ALLOT, finances always seem to be tighter (less people wanting to buy or re-do kitchens in the winter), and it  also seems like we just plain have more 'minor travesties' during the dark, cold, winter months. This may all be in my head or it all may be 'coincidences', but needless to say I am overly thrilled about the upcoming warm months. Also coming up is the Home school conference. I have been looking forward to this for awhile. My mother is still teaching my youngest sister (she is a freshman) so I am going with her to a conference in Peoria, Illinois. It should be allot of fun and I'm anxious to buy Jonathan's first years schoolwork. I'm looking forward to 'officially' starting school with him, but also very nervous. The whole teaching him how to read and write thing makes me anxious. He is pretty strong-willed and sometimes our personalities clash. I am just praying the Lord will give me the patience get the job done.
Austin (my 2 1/2 year old) is officially potty-trained! Wa-ho for Austin! I really didn't do a whole lot with him. He just kind of trained himself. I had been working on it off and on, but it wasn't until he decided he was going to be a 'big boy' that he stopped having 'accidents'. It was pretty much an overnight thing. He had an accident a week ago at my mom's and since then has been dry- even during the night! He even takes himself ( 'Me do it, me do it, mommy...")! I bought a package of pull-ups last week and I don't think I'll even need them- go figure?! I love the feeling of having another child 'potty-trained'. I don't care for potty-training. I actually dread having to do it. It was just such a relief that he was so easy. I hope Noah will be the same way in a couple of years. :)
Noah is doing great! He is pushing close to 13 pounds. We went and saw his pediatrician  today and he was VERY happy with his progress. He says he is developmentally right on target. He just needs to gain a few more pounds to be on target with his weight. I'm hoping that by next month he'll be on the charts for his weight. He already is for his height and head circumference. It doesn't help that my babies are usually low on the charts for their weight anyway, and being he has had a major problem in this area we'll see how soon he can gets on. I told Tim (my hubby) that he'll probably end up being our biggest baby...lol!
Well, that about sums up what's been going on in my life. I hope I can get back here again sooner than it took me this time. We'll see, maybe something exciting will happen soon...who knows?! :)

Here's a random picture of my silly boys.

Mar. 15, 2007 - Noah is growing!!!

I have great news! The nurse from WIC came today to do a 'routine' checkup on Noah since he is receiving WIC assistance and they consider him 'high risk'.  Well....dum-de-de-dum-de-dum.... (that is supposed to be drum rolls...) he weighed in at a whopping 12lbs 7 oz.! I was pretty excited (that's a little understated). It may seem small to all of you for a five month old, but to me it is a HUGE thing! He only weighed 10lbs 13 oz. two weeks ago. He's gained almost two pounds in two weeks! Wa-ho for Noah! He is now just barely off the chart in his weight and he is at about the 20 to 25 percentile for his height and his head circumference is right smack dab in the middle of normal. He's doing awesome and I think that within a month he'll actually be on the charts for his weight! I don't care if he is low on the chart , just so long as he is on it. My other two boys were always only in the 20 to 25  percentile  for their weight so I'm happy if he only gets to like the 10th percentile. You can barely tell he even had failure to thrive. He is 'developmentaly' right about where he needs to be. In fact, it wouldn't surprise me at all if he is crawling within a month or two. He was actually scooting his body forward today, and he did it in front of the nurse (she was 'very' pleased)! It's just so awesome how our body works, and it's even more awesome how the Lord can heal! It can be so complex, one little imbalance of electrolytes and your whole body reacts! All we had to do was fix his imbalance, change formulas and BAM off he went! The Lord sure has heard and answered our prayers. He 'is' a great and marvelous God!

Mar. 9, 2007 - Pictures of Noah and my most recent projects!

Let's see if I can actually get this post posted! Anyway, here is a picture of Noah a day after he was born. I love this picture- it's probably my favorite one of him as a newborn.

Here is a picture of him now about four pounds heavier. I think babies are supposed to have gained about double their birth weight by now, but hey, we're happy with half of that. We'll take anything we can get.
Here are my most recent projects I have been working on. It feels so good to be sewing again! I've got the itch now and I can't wait to start something else today. This first bag was made for a friend of mines baby girl. She had her the same day Noah was admitted into the hospital at the same hospital. Too weird ,huh? Anyway this is what I did for a good part of Tuesday.
Here is what I worked on Wednesday, a new diaper bag for my Noah!
I wish I could've made something yesterday too, but I had to run errands for a good portion of the day.  I'm really wanting to make myself either a skirt or shirt. I don't know yet. I'll have to go through my fabric and patterns and see what I have. I'll post whatever I make , I'll even model it off for you...wow, won't 'that' be exciting!  Ha,ha...yeah... :)
