Raising Three Little Men

Aug. 14, 2007 - Baked Oatmeal...

Just thought I'd share with you all a wonderful recipe I found and made today for breakfast! I am in desperate need to do some grocery shopping, but since our paycheck has been delayed by several days (joys of running your own business) I have had to make do with what we've had on hand. Something I rarely do because I'm usually able to run to the store any time I need something (God is good to us...). Anyway about all we had was oatmeal and I wanted to make something other than just your ordinary oatmeal you make in a pot. So I went to my favorite recipe source All RecipesI found this wonderful looking recipe and tried it out. All I have to say is Yums sa yums!!! It's awesome with a little milk poured on top!

                                    Baked Oatmeal

1/2 cup vegetable oil                            3 cups quick cooking oats
3/4 cup white sugar                              1/2 cup raisins ( I used about 1
2 eggs                                                   cup chopped apples)
1 cup milk                                              2 tbs. brown sugar
1/2 tsp. salt                                           1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1 tbs. baking powder

1. Beat together oil and sugar. Mix in eggs, milk, salt, baking powder, and  oatmeal. Beat well then stir in raisins (or apples in my case). Pour into a lightly greased pie pan. Sprinkle with brown sugar and cinnamon.

2. Bake in preheated 350 degree oven for about 30 minutes or until firm.

3. Serve hot (we put milk on top of ours) and enjoy!

Give it a try and let me know what you think!

Aug. 14, 2007 - I am sooooo Sorry

That you thought that was left for you. It had nothing at all to do with what you had said. Cassandra and I have been writing back and forth for a little while, and I told her I was going to pray that the Lord raise up some "Single" college aged girls or some teens to come along side her and help her. I am so sorry if you thought that remark was to you, because I hadn't even read yours until after I left mine. It really was for all the women at her fellowship. Please except my heart felt apology and know that I will add you and your family to my prayer list as well. You certainly have your hands full too. My daughter also has six cildren and is a pastor's wife.I know how difficult that calling can be and since so many people are always asking what they can do to help, I thought a reminder to them might cause them to think, "Oh why didn't I think of that?" I think your words to your sister were very sweet and I was glad you admonished her about "letting" people help.
Thak you for letting me know how you felt I hope we can start on better footing now.
because of Jesus, Bobbie
