Poor poor friend. I hope your nose feels better tomorrow. Maybe your throat will join your nose and get better, too. Hang in there.

Oh no, Bethany!!! I'm so sorry you haven't been feeling well. Twice in one week is a major pain in the bum, and I feel for you. May I take it as an encouraging sign that you visited me last night/this morning? Maybe you're beginning to feel better? Oh, loved the post - you kill me! So sorry to hear that you had "wett to bed," though. lol

What a bummer about the moldy room. You're killing me with your "bad news/it's not Michigan's fault" routine, LOL!! I *know* Michigan isn't perfect, but I also know that there's no place we'd rather be. Even the boys. In fact, the other night we were watching a commerical of a man raking his leaves (that wasn't the whole commercial, just a part, but the only part we were watching, because it was so prettttty), and I told the boys "Do you remember that? You'll have to do that again if we move back..." (the 'if' is just to make sure they're still okay with everything) The oldest said, with a sigh and tinge of longing in his voice, "Hopefully we'll be doing that next year at this time...." ROFLOL! I am afraid sometimes that we've romanticized the seasons, etc., but really, hubby and I lived in that climate for over 30 years, so we *do* know what we're getting ourselves in for. Variety is the spice of life, and that includes weather. Want to know what it feels like to live here? It feels like living in the movie "Groundhog Day." It's very defeating after awhile, too. But this wasn't meant to be a steam-blowing session - sorry. :-)

Thanks for your consolation on my lack of get-up-and-go in cleaning the garage. I try to motivate myself that we need to clean it in order to list the house, so I'm really pre-packing to move, but apparently the slacker in me is more intelligent than that. *sigh* Today's always a new day, and I don't feel quite so "blah" today, so who knows? Me. I know. I won't touch that garage today at all....

Hope you feel much better, my friend, and I will chat with you again soon. I always start smiling when I see an email informing me you've left a comment. You never disappoint.

Oh, by the by ... shoot, the thought went right out of my head. I'll remember, and I'll be back. No, that's not a threat, sheesh.

Sponge Bob? You were really sick! I hope you are feeling better now. Last week was hard for me too, I get wheezy when the weather turns breezy. :o)

My absolute favorite logic book that I used with the kids is "Logic for Beginners" by Irving Adler. It's hard to find, but if you can find it, I recommend it. (I've been corrected by my students-The consensus is that the beginning is boring, but it is well worth fighting through because the latter half is very interesting. So there you are.)

Peace and Laughter and Health!

What Type of Homeschooler Are You?

Well, here's MY description:
Over 16 years of homeschooling, I've evolved to a less formal, Charlotte Mason-ish eclectic approach with a more-or-less classical bent. (Isn't that clear as mud?) My goal is to “light the fires” of learning and creativity in my kids. I emphasize history & literature because we enjoy them, and I incorporate informal language arts into much of what we do.

Er, yeah. That's how it's SUPPOSED to go. The reality of it is...
After 16 years of homeschooling, I have yet to really figure out how to do it. So we muddle along, overemphasizing history and almost sort of neglecting science, and I spend way too much time making plans that we don't stick to anyway. We read a lot, and we like words, and we don't manage our time very well, and sometimes I yell.

And here's how quizilla sees it:

Mr. Potato Head:
"You have your ideal of how things should look, but you're flexible enough to allow for change. You are not bothered by changing methods, mid-course if necessary. You use an eclectic combination of curriculum sources."

Um, yeah, that works, for the most part.
