Apr. 10, 2009 - Lynette - Posted By: Julia

So this is the guy that makes Robin upset whenever even his name is mentioned.
W
olf Woman shivered; the sound of his voice was enough to give anyone chills.

Raven moved closer to the communicator, “There is no antidote for ebola.”

“Raven, have you ever known me to be stupid?” Slade asked, “There is an antidote, and I am the only one who has it; the only one who will survive this epidemic. Unless I get something in return.”

“What do you want, Slade?” Robin asked.

“The one you stole from me, Robin. My old apprentice, Monster.” He paused for half a second, “Oh, that’s right, you two were close. I guess you know her better as Lynette.”

Wolf Woman got a strange feeling when that name was mentioned; all of the five original Titans were suddenly hushed, as if Slade had just asked them to kill two hundred people each. Who was this Lynette? I hate not knowing anything.

Slade chuckled, “I’ll give you two days to bring her back to me. Then you can have your antidote.”

One the communicator was silenced Erika and all three of the Wolves asked, “Who’s Lynette?”

Robin sighed, “Lynette was Slade’s old apprentice; I met her seven or eight months ago when I was captured by him. She had amazing, but dangerous, powers, which were connected to her emotions. So whenever she felt something strongly enough her powers would be unleashed, and it was extremely hard for her to control it.

“While Slade is all bad, Lynette didn’t seem to be, so I tried to get to know her. Once I got her to trust me I found out that the only reasons she stayed with Slade were that she felt he was the only one who could ‘love’ her and she was scared of what he might do if she tried to run away. I also found out that Slade had been abusing her, and that she was pregnant as a result.

“When the rest of the Titans came to rescue me I convinced Lynette to come with us. We hid her for about a month and a half, but then she ran away. And it was my fault,” he whispered the last sentence so quietly that only one person in the room caught it. “We haven’t heard from her since then.”

Grey Wolf had heard Robin’s whispered sentence with his enhanced hearing and he felt a tugging to talk to Robin about it. He walked over to Robin, “Hey man, I need to talk with you alone for a second,” he whispered. “Can you give the others something to do while we talk?”

Robin nodded and turned to the others, “Grey Wolf and I need to talk for a second; we’ll be right back. Meanwhile, you guys all get to know each other; I have a feeling we’ll be working together closely for the next few days. We need to get that antidote, but we’re not giving Lynette back to Slade; she’s a free woman now.” With that, Robin and Grey Wolf walked out of the room.

They walked down the hall to Robin’s room and the two of them sat on the bed. “I heard the sentence you whispered, Dick. I felt like I needed to talk to you about it. Why did you say that it was your fault?”

Robin sighed, “William, when we saved Lynette from Slade she was so scared. She couldn’t sleep at night for fear of him coming for her in the middle of the night.” He paused for a few seconds. “So I slept next to her; we didn’t do anything, but we slept together. This all happened right before I became a Christian, so I kind of knew it was wrong, but I didn’t really care. Then I became a Christian and I knew that it was wrong, but I still did it anyways.

“Then, after about a week, God started convicting me of the wrong I was doing. Bible verses popped up out of nowhere, our Youth Group had a lesson on purity, until I gave up fighting. I told her that I couldn’t sleep next to her anymore. I tried to do it as gently as possible, I tried to show her that I still cared about her, that I wasn’t leaving her, but she didn’t understand. She took it as another rejection from someone she had trusted. And so she ran away.”

Grey Wolf thought for a second. “Dick, you did the right thing. You can’t blame yourself for that!”

“No. But I knew that what I was doing was wrong, but I did it anyways. That’s what makes it my fault. If I had listened to my conscience the first time, and hadn’t even started sleeping next to her, she wouldn’t have felt rejected. And now she’s out there alone, scared, and dejected; and I can’t help her this time.”

Grey Wolf was silent for a moment. He knew that nothing he said could convince his friend that it hadn’t been his fault. Perhaps all he could do for Dick right now was to encourage him. “No, you can help her right now. By making sure that she doesn’t go back to Slade. Let’s get that antidote!”

Robin gave a small smile to his friend and the two of them headed back to the other room.

Wolf Woman and the others stared at the two girls who had invaded Titans’ Tower. She couldn’t quite put her finger on it, but something was telling her that they needed to hear what the girl in white had to say.

Once Cyborg lowered his arm, the girl started talking, “Thank-you. As I said, I’m not here to fight.”

“Neither am I!” the girl in the body armor lowered her arms, which she’d thrown up defensively when Cyborg threatened them.

“I’m here to warn you guys.”

“Warn us of what?” Robin stepped forward curiously.

“Well, I was at the nearby train station and I walked past a man, his name is Trevor Densely. When I walked past him I got this strange feeling from him. I couldn’t put my finger on it at first, but I soon realized that he was carrying a disease-”

“Hold on.” Cyborg said, “You’re telling us that because of a strange feeling you got, this man has a disease?”

“Yes, much like Raven’s powers enable her to feel things.”

“So you’re a telepath?” Raven asked curiously.

The girl shifted nervously, “Not quite. See…I’m an angel.”

A bunch of the others, including the other strange girl, gave a resounding, “WHAT?!?!” But Wolf Woman kept quiet. Something about this girl…makes me want to believe her. And why not? She has wings like an angel, she’s beautiful, she has a slight glow about her…

“You expect us to believe that???” Cyborg said incredulously.

As the others gave their opinions as well, Raven fell back a few steps. “Are you okay?” Wolf Woman asked her.

“It’s nothing.”

She didn’t believe her, but she also knew that Raven wouldn’t tell her anything, so Wolf Woman turned her attention back to the girl in white. Something inside kept saying “Tell them you believe her. Tell them.” “I believe her.”

The others all turned to look at her. Then, after a pause, Starfire exclaimed, “If friend Wolf Woman believes her, then I do too.” She turned and gave the girl a giant hug, “It is a pleasure to meet you, angelic being!”

The look on the girl’s face from being squished made the others laugh and the tension in the room lessened. Wolf Woman looked at the other Christians in the room (the other two Wolves and Robin). They all nodded; they believed her too.

Beastboy walked over to the other new girl, “Well, she’s an angel. So who are you?”

“I’m a Mandalorian Jedi.”

Beastboy’s eyes lit up, “A Jedi? Sweet! Can you do that “wave-your-hand-and-they-obey-you” thing?”

Jan. 25, 2009 - Questions and Howling - Posted By: Julia

Julia was restless. Her mind kept straying back to the way Robin had acted earlier in the day. She didn’t understand it, none of the Wolves did.

The Titans had discovered that Robin's archenemy, Slade, was back. Whenever Slade was mentioned Robin got a strange look in his eyes (she could tell even though he had a mask).
I’ll have to ask him about that tomorrow.

After a few minutes more of trying to sleep, Julia finally gave up. She quickly changed into her Wolf costume, went over to the window and got out onto the roof. After closing the window, she gracefully jumped to the ground. She pushed a button on her utility belt that called her Wolf Board. Within seconds the board reached her and she got on and headed for Titans Tower.

As she was on her way there she thought about her time with the Titans so far. She and the other Wolves had only been official Titans for a week. The other Titans had been working on making three rooms for their newest members, but they weren’t quite finished yet. But it didn’t matter to her, she couldn’t sleep there anyways, for her parents would get suspicious. That’s something I don’t need, she thought.

When she finally got to the Tower, she was surprised to find Grey Wolf outside it. He was running around in circles in his wolf form. Is he chasing his tail? She shook her head at her silly friend.

As she landed Grey Wolf collapsed onto his left side, panting heavily. When he noticed Wolf Woman, he changed into his human form, “I don’t know how dogs can do this all the time! Chasing my tail wiped me out!”

She smiled and sat next to her friend, “Guess you’ll just have to practice.”

“You’re making fun of me!”

“Maybe.”

“Maybe you’re just jealous of me, huh?” He said jokingly, “Bet you can’t do this:” he transformed into a wolf again and he gave out a long, haunting howl.

Julia remembered back to when the black alpha wolf heard her singing and howled for her. She remembered his beautiful voice as clearly as if it had happened five minutes ago. When Grey Wolf was done she said, “Give me a minute.” She concentrated hard and then gave her best wolf-howl, basing it off of the alpha wolf’s howl.

When she was done, Grey Wolf turned back to his normal self, “Pretty good for a human,” he complimented.

“Thank-you.”

Just then, White Wolf ran up to them. “Guys!”

“What is it, White Wolf?” Grey Wolf asked.

“Yeah, what’s wrong?”

“Do you remember when the Bat-mobile was hi-jacked and we all went chasing after it?”

“How could we forget?” Grey Wolf groaned.

“Yeah, especially since the one who did it was younger than us.”

“And then there was that girl that stopped him,” Grey Wolf continued, “The one in what looked like a bounty-hunter’s suit.”

White Wolf nodded, “The two of them were using some sort of communication device, and while we were chasing after the Bat-mobile I got the signal on my Wolf Computer in my left glove.”

“Sweet.” Grey Wolf said.

“Yeah, well I just picked up it’s signal nearby!”

“So one of them-”

“-Or both.” Grey Wolf interrupted.

“-is nearby?” Wolf Woman finished her question.

“Unless my computer is malfunctioning, yes."
