Rainbows From Heaven

Calling All Poets...

I started writing a poem about a year ago and never finished it. I just found it in my notebook and thought it would be fun to have some help finishing it. So if you feel creative enough to add a stanza or two, leave me a comment. All the best ones will be included in a completed poem post. That is if I receive enough entries to actually complete the poem.

Creation

Dark, barren nothingness
A vast, empty expanse
Somber, dismal vacancy,
An abode that disenchants.

Out of this obscurity
A voice steadfast and loud
Spoke out with great authority
Lifting that opaque shroud.

The angels danced with gladness
And sang out in sheer delight.
For out of all that darkness
Appeared the faintest light.

And dawn gave birth to evening
As day one came to a close
For light was the emergence
Of God's eminent cosmos.

Suffocating, saturated,
Smothered universe.
Until, at last the water
He did carefully disperse.

Betwixt those awesome waters,
Fresh air prevailed o'erall
While angels in the heavens
Anticipate their master's call.

Day two closes swiftly
Oceans, air, and light abide
Where the world once was governed
By darkness multiplied.

I don't write much poetry, but this looks like fun. Here is mine...

    "Again the Master spoke,
This time it was Day three.
    Color blooming everywhere
In grass, in flower, in tree.

    Each growing plant was special
For in each contained a seed,
Which waited for that wondrous day
When from its shell was freed."

BTW, you might want to check out my post "Save A Connie" to learn about a really special Connie. :-)

I've created a monster! First KayinMaine, then you, now MaineMommyDeb. All my friends have seriously gotten into the blog spirit at a time when I've begun to bow out. Who next??? I can't help but wonder.

Seriously, I'm not a poet, so I can't help you out. But your blog is looking great!

    Hi
I wouldn't trust myself with adding even a word to your poem.......It's way too beautiful........It would be poetic suicide!
You are blessed with a beautiful talent! Praise God!
    Bye
