Do You Haiku...

I've decided to host my very own contest. One of our local organizations hosts a haiku contest and I thought it would be fun to introduce to you the Haiku (art of Japanese Poetry). It is a very simple poem to write. It doesn't have to rhyme and it only contains three lines. The first line consists of 5 syllables, the second seven syllables and the third five syllables. Just choose a topic, and describe it in as few syllables as you can.

Rules: 1) post a haiku on your blog and a link to my contest
                  2) leave me a comment saying you posted your haiku and what age group you
                       fall in
                  3) subject ~ anything to do with winter (snow, snowmen, valentines day,
                       Presidents day etc.)
                 4) contest ends when I get at least five entries in each age group

There will be a prize for adults and kids.

(adults) ~ get an audio book by Ginger Plowman called "Don't Make Me Count to
                                Three"
(kids) ~ get an audio cd of Adventures in Odyssey "Life Lessons Volume 2
                            Humility"
(teens) ~  get a $10.00 gift certificate to CBD

     Here's my haiku:

Cabin Fever

Yearning, aching soul
Breathlessly bound up inside
Struggling to be free.

I am going to do this, but won't be able til Wednesday to post. So I hope it's not over by then!!
My Mom has decided to "assign" us to do it, so I have to for school.
So I know it says that it has to have the topic of winter, so since I just got horses in winter, would that count??
Thanks!!
God Bless and Keep You and Yours!!
Take Care!!
