August 15, 2007 - God's Mysterious Ways!
As I already mentioned, all three of my sisters and myself are in choir and take piano lessons. Monday, on our way to piano, my mom basically told us that we would not be able to take piano or be in choir as long as dad was out of a job or if he only had a small income.
Well, providence would have it that we got the time of the first lesson mixed up and ended up being an hour early. This in between time was supposed to be our teacher's lunch time but she said she had not brought any food that day so mom had the perfect opportunity to explain what was going on.
After she sunk it in a little she walked out of the room to take care of a few things so my mom took this opportunity to call our choir director and break the news to her. And basically she said, "Oh! All of them are still in choir, and Josie still gets her voice lessons!" WOW! So then our piano teacher walked in, mom hung up and told all of us what our director said, and our teacher says, "Same here. I'm not losing this bunch if I can help it!" DOUBLE WOW!!
So unless something changes, we still have piano lessons and choir, at least until further notice!
While I certainly haven't doubted God once through all of this, I never thought our prayers would be answered so quickly!
My dad called a friend of ours yesterday who had more or less hinted that he would be willing to give my dad a job some time last year. They invited us over for dinner yesterday evening and while the kids went out to swim the adults talked it over and my dad is at work this very minute!!!
For now this is temporary, we'll see how it works and if this is where God wants us, but it's quite possible this could become a permanent partnership. My dad didn't even find out what his pay will be or even when payday is, he is just thankful to 1) have a job, and even more so 2) to be in partnership with a Christian who has made it his goal to only hire fellow brothers in Christ! Not to mention it's a land scaping job which my dad will be great at!
We are just so amazed and blessed that God allowed us to move when we did 'cause we are only 7 min. from their house (the headquarters)! And my dad was over-joyed to find out that they do a devotional EVERY morning before starting their work!
Thank you all so much for praying for us! I'll let y'all no how everything goes. Thank you again and God bless you each and every one!
In awe of God's mercy, Melanie

August 18, 2007 - hallelujah!
We've been in that situation before, where none of us have a clue what our future looks like, not sure of housing, work, etc. And just when we start leaning on Him, and trusting Him with our worries, He works miracles! Of course He's doing it all the time, but it is easy to forget how much He cares for us!
I am glad to hear how things are working out so beautifully. May our Heavenly Father continue to bless you and your family!
