Recently Jessie and a couple of her friends tried out for a Christian cheerleading group. I'll have to admit Christian cheerleading seemed a contridiction to me. I grew up being on the outside of the popular cheerleading groups. However, I do have a really good friend who was a cheerleader and her daughter now cheers (you go girl!). But I never pictured myself being a mom of a cheerleader. But let me tell you, this group, Cheerleaders For Christ, definately have their focus on higher things. The main priority is their relationship with Christ and setting a good example to the community and they get to cheer for Christ. I'm really excited to see how these girls are going to grow through this experience. They are all number one in my book. YOU GO GIRLS!

Cheerleading I mean!! I must confess.... I'm the cheerleader from the past ( right Jeanette) as I hold the lighter to my face...lol) and my daughter is the one who is on the secular cheerleading squad and has been since she was 5. We did do Cheerleaders for Christ last year when we homeschooled and had a good time, but my kids are back to a private school now and so she is back cheering with her other squad and loves it still. I guess I'll blog about it someday, but right now we use it as a way not only to have fun and hard core physical fitness, but for the glory of God to witness to the MANY unbelievers that we come across out there during allstar competitions. I have to be honest, we didn't start out witnessing, but as we came across many non-believers, we realized God needs us everywhere. And, my girls LOVE TO CHEER!!! I love to watch!! Heehee!!
WOW... that turned into a long response. Sorry Jeanette..heehee. Anyway, have fun..... You go Jessie, Grace, Ashley, and Kaitlyn, and the rest of the girls.... Cheer on for Christ!!!!!!! And we'll keep witnessing on this end of the cheerleading world!!
