The Wall

If you came to visit us today, this is what you would see on our dining room school room wall:

1.  "Bodies" we are putting together from Considering God's Creation

2.  Brochure for next Tuesday's Diana Waring conference

3.  Invitation to my sister's and my brother's joint engagement party (they are twins who just had their 21st last March)

4.  To the left of the board:

My list of things to memorize - 3x tables,

Questions from the Shorter Catechism,

Key to Diacritical marks for Vocabulary from Classical Roots

Grammar rules to memorize from First Language Lessons for the Well Trained Mind: Level 4

5. To the right of the board is our new Timeline of World History,

using timeline figures put together by Hannah at Hannah's Homeschool helps

6.  Above the board are various pictures sketched for Sketch Tuesday

What's on your School room wall?

8-Sep-2009 - Hello!

Thanks so much for visiting my blog! And for your lovely comments. On my school (dining room, also) wall I have the shorter catechism questions we are learning at the moment about the first commandment. A mind map chart from our history lessons about Adam to Abraham (so far it has the creation days and adam and eve wearing leaves). Our address and phone number to learn our numbers as well as the numbers one through 10, all the coins from 5 cents to 2 dollars, all the plane shapes, two poems by RL Stevenson - one for memorising and one we have already memorised and are now using to read from and an 50 postcards surrounding a map of australia from a trip the children's grandparents just took!
I have a lot on my school wall don't I? and then there is the fridge and the hall way walls (of which we have two) and the bedroom walls! I like to hang stuff around and to be PERFECTLY honest only one of my three are visual learners!!!!!!!!!
Well, it has been lovely to "meet" with you here- sorry this intro has been so long! I look forward to coming again soon!!!

That's a wall bursting with creativity! Even the skeletons look cheerful.

You've inspired me to expand beyond the strictures of our bulletin board.

Very nice, Rachel. It was fun to get a glimpse of your home & school!

Hmm, our home school room is also my office so here goes: a white board (dry erase), a bulletin board of inspirations, a Rembrandt sketch from an exhibit I visited in 1992 in Darmstadt, Germany (a copy), two calendars (one in Russian, the other in English), three clipboards with 1)home school goals 2)Year 2 weekly schedule 3)my Master Chore list,
seven of my husband's photos (he's a photographer), a map of Bern (where his last conference was), three drawings by our children and our framed CM motto with verses, which you saw.

Jeanne might just pass out if she saw it!

Best,
Richele

Hi Rachael,
I've been over reading a little again!
I loved your school room pic. It keeps going through my head
Racheal's children, in the dining room with the ?? (lead pencils perhaps!)
Do you remember Cluedo?
