Appointments, Appointments!!!
Good Grief! I am really getting to the end of my pregnancy! I am down to weekly appointments (yay!) and I start NST's next week to monitor baby. I will go to Labor and Delivery twice per week for these tests and I also will see the OB every week. WOW! Three appointments each week! I hope this makes the time go by really fast! On the other hand, once this little Prince is here, I know I will miss all those jabs and roles. This will be the last time I am pregnant in my entire life. That's a lot to take in so even though pregnancy has not been very good to my body, I will miss it terribly. Weird. I will be glad to be able to bend again though! lol and hopefully find some energy again. I kinda miss me. My family misses me too, but it will be so worth it!!! I am just so excited to see this little guy and get to know him. I think he is going to look like his brothers. So far my boys have all looked alike and it will be really cool to see if the trend continues! This is the easiest way to have triplets! Several years between each child!! lol
So, between the three appointments I will have each week until this little one arrives, I will also have an ultrasound every other week and I need to see the dietician and a cardiologist. All this in about 4-5 weeks time! So some weeks I'll have 3 appts and other weeks 4-5!! That's if it all stays stable!
My OB mentioned that with the extra fluid in my uterus that when I get to 37 wks she may go ahead and check for lung maturity and if the baby is ready, she would induce me then. I'm not sure I like that idea, I was able to have my first naturally and the second I went into labor on my own but because he was premature, they gave me Pitocin to hurry things along. That was torture!!! I hate pitocin!! They gave me enough to birth an elephant and the kid only weighed 4 lbs. In retrospect, I should have declined but in the moment with him being a preemie and the worry, well, you do what you've got to do to get them here safe.
This one is the same thing. They are worried that with the extra fluid if my water breaks the placenta will separate from my uterus or the umbilical cord will slip into the birth canal either scenario killing the baby and putting me at risk for bleeding. UGH! So, I hope the levels will go down to normal range and I can have this baby naturally. I guess I'll do what the DR thinks will get him here safely. Anyone ever have this happen and have a happy result?
I hope I have the energy for all these appt's!! Atleast the time will go by a little faster with them!

Oct. 19, 2007 - I'll keep praying
Posted by ThriceBlessed
I just want to let you know that I continue to pray for you. Also, to give you a little heads up: homeschooling with a Newborn around is very challenging. I highly recommend that you take it with the attitude that whatever gets done gets done and whatever doesn't isn't important right now. Let your kids play at www.starfall.com, and let them color and play outside. Read aloud to them when you can, and if your have a really good day do a little "schoolwork", but absolutely don't give yourself any "must do's" for at least 6 weeks, and very few for the next 6 months. Your kids are young, so don't worry about them falling behind.

I plan on taking time off. I figured that with three under foot and such we'd take the month of December off because it is such a busy time of year anway and with a new baby and two others, one a toddler, I figure we can relax a bit. I don't know when we'll "officially" start up again. It may be in mid-January or just slowly over time we'll build back up again. I am thinking that I'll just know when and it will be ok. What's the worst that can happen? I was asking myself that and the only answer I came up with is that my kids will get one on one time (very important with a new little one in the house) and get read to a lot. The only other thing is we will finish in June instead of April. BIG DEAL! So now that I've gotten over that hurdle and realized it isn't a hurdle, I can go on. :) Perhaps we'll end up baking a lot of cookies this Christmas!

God bless you and may you feel His peace during these last weeks of pregnancy and soon will be holding your precious son.
We just had our fifth baby 3 weeks again, and yes homeschooling has been challenging! But God is good! I just take one day at a time.

Hi! You left a message on my blog so I thought I'd try to respond before my baby comes! I am having an amnio on Monday and if all goes well they are taking the baby by c-section at 37 weeks. Why so early? Because I have only had c-sections (three) so the doctors don't want me to go into labor at all. They say she is measuring small, 35%, but healthy, and will probably weigh only about 5 pounds or so. So, there is only about a 15% chance that my baby is not ready to be born, due to her immature lungs. If the amnio goes well, we will have our little girl in our arms in just 3 short days!!
Anyway, I was reading your blog about all the risks your doctor has explained to you. I too have had many risks explained to me. It can be very hard to live each day knowing the things that COULD happen, so just take it easy and trust in the Lord to provide for all your and your baby's needs. Easier said than done, I know!
Praying you have a safe delivery. I look forward to seeing future posts with some pictures of your little boy!
Blessings!
