Ryan Frederick was born Friday afternoon, November 23rd at 1:48 pm. He weighs in at 7lbs. 1 oz, 21 inches long. He has a full head of dark hair! Momma, Daddy and Big brothers are so in love and thankful! He shares his big brother Kyle's Birthday!!

I went in Friday morning at 8:30am to be induced. My OB had hoped to just break my water and then labor would happen on it's own however when she came in at 9:30am to check me, his head wasn't down enough and she was really afraid that if she broke my water the cord would slip into the canal and that would be life threatening. She started the pitocin to get me contracting so he'd move down more. I was still 5cm but with the polyhydramnios (extra fluid in the uterus) she felt once he was down, it would be quick. Let me set the stage!!!!

UNDERSTATEMENT OF THE YEAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The dosage of pitocin was small and they would gradually increase it over time. I never had the awful evil contractions with it during this time and we laughed and joked through the whole thing just me pausing every few minutes to breathe a bit through a cx but it was not painful.

THEN! All heck broke loose! My OB had left and came back at 1:15pm. At 1:30pm she examined me and said I was dilated to 7cm and about 100% effaced. She went ahead and broke my water. The very next thing as soon as she stood up was a HUGE awful cx tg=hat made me want to scream (didn't) followed by another one that made me ask for anesthesia!!!! The anesthesiologist showed up a few minutes later and while he was getting things ready I began having another cx only with this one all of a sudden

HE CAME OUT!!!!!!!

No kidding! His head came flying out and with the next cx his body. People came running out of nowhere, My OB couldn't get gowned fast enough!! In 18 minutes I went from 7cm to holding my son and nursing him!!!!!! I was whipped! My body literally exploded this kid out! The dr had to throw the anesthesiologist out of the way! My DH had just picked up the phone as it was one of my SIL's calling to see how things were going and as he said, "well they just broke her water....." I gave the gutteral cavewoman war-cry and he flew out! The phone went flying, everyone came running and he had to be caught! I'm still in shock! They couldn't get the bed broken down fast enough or my feet in stirrups! He was here!!

So that is my crazy story! Absolutely inredible!

We are all doing fine and I hope to find my strength this coming week. Hoping my milk will come in soon.
