Got all Nov. Birthdays celebrated

Posted in Fun Stuff

We had 3 birthdays this past week. Both my girls, the 5th and 12th. They really had some special days. They were so excited and happy with the parties. Our littlest one, Becky - 6, received her big bike and CD player which made her jaw drop both times. It was definitely worth the wait to see that expression. Our 11 yr old, Konola, received a portable karoke machine which excited her far beyond what I was expecting. We also had our neice's birthday on Sunday. Now, on to Thanksgiving! :)

Sean's Birthday

Posted in Fun Stuff

We had Sean's party yesterday afternoon. By the time the party got underway, I had about 16 kids in my yard/house, besides adults. He had a really great day. Hard to believe my little man is now 8 years old.

Built a gate and doghouse

Posted in Fun Stuff

During the only afternoon that it didn't rain, we finally were able to get a gate put up in our backyard. I wanted to separate the backyard; give the dog her spot and have a place where for us ( I want to plant a veggie garden for this year). I can't believe I got the gate made with the extra lumber and stuff that was left here when I moved in. We also got a doghouse made for Jasmine. But of course she will not go in there. She would rather sit out in the rain and get drenched. She got spoiled since she has been coming inside all the time. LOL But I would like her to be able to spend most of the time outside.

Oh no... Slugs

Posted in Fun Stuff

We seem to have slugs in our garden. My poor flowers are being eaten. All that hard work, getting through the freeze period, and the money. Now I have to see what will work best for getting rid of these. I did find one in a lid of water that was placed in the garden. This slug was huge. It was almost 4 inches long and about 3/4 inch wide. I have never seen anything so big.

The weekend is looking like a catch up time.

Posted in Fun Stuff

Well, since getting us a car to give us some freedom, I have let a few things go. Had to work on making sure the car was going to be reliable. Now this weekend will be spent catching up on everything from checking over assignments for the kids to cleaning house. I did finally get to my website. LOL Now I wonder if we will ever get to our backyard.

We made a garden!

Posted in Fun Stuff

This week we began working on making our yard look great. We spent the first day cleaning out the areas I picked for our floral/plant garden. We have 3 areas. We cleaned out all garbage and weeds. Spent most of the afternoon hoeing the ground. I have blisters all over my hands. LOL

The next day, we took a trip to Home Depot to pick out the flowers we wanted to show. We ended up with pansies, daisies, marigolds, Mona Lisas, and Blue Campanulas. Such a variety of colors and shapes. It really looks great!

Now, we are worried that the weather doesn't agree with what we have created. The temperatures decided to dip down to freezing. Sure hope they make it through our strange weather.
