2 Kings 19:19

Posted in Mixed Fruit

I have always voted conservatively because of the moral and fiscal values I hold, but this year I am so sad at the state of the Republican party and our choices for President.  I am linking to this video because this is one area I truly believe we are heading for a fall in our country.  I know that there are many aspects to protecting our country and I am not in favor of immediate withdraw from Iraq and our other areas of proactive defense, but I cringe for our deficit to remain as it is.

I have debt too that I wish I had never incurred!  I borrowed money for college just so I could live on campus when I could have saved thousands of dollars and lived with my parents!  How ridiculous!  All because society said that since I turned 18 I needed to be out on my own and I believed it and have really paid for it!

The Bible does not say children are to leave their parents until they are to be married!  Isaac was 40 years of age and when he was married to Rebekah.  During that time he remained with his parents and a wife was chosen for him!! It is sad that our nation has fallen so far from Biblical truths!

Going back  to my original point:  Had I followed a Biblical model, I would have at least saved myself all the wasted loan money, and possibly devoted those many hours (learning all about everything that wasn't Biblical) to studying the Bible and how to be the wife and mother I am trying to learn now, while currently burdened by my debt!

I feel that our nation is choking our own life as we gorge on every single amusement and fun to be had, leaving the most basic necessities of life in the hands of foreigners who are willing to work.  (Americans, including myself, have become so pampered we hardly know how to work!)  Have you noticed where most of our food is imported from.  I don't know if it is just because we live in FL, but so much of our produce is from Central and South American countries.  We live in a very mild climate and have grown produce in our garden even more than expected this year.  Why can't America produce our own food and other resources in large amounts? Laziness and lack of responsibility! It scares me to think what we will be paying for food grown in another country as the dollar continues to devalue!

I am not totally set on Ron Paul and I seriously doubt his ability to be nominated, but I appreciate his willingness to say what is unpleasant to hear and unpopular to think about (spending less, government not "fixing" everything).  I appreciate the fact that he looks at history to help determine whether we are declining or improving as a nation.  I pray whoever God chooses to lead our country is willing to make serious changes to stop this spending that will leave us shell shocked when we are a bankrupt nation, enslaved to others!

The girls and I are studying the fall of Israel to Assyria.  We see the hand of God being removed from His chosen nation because they did not keep His commandments and honor Him and Him only.  We studied today about King Hezekiah and his prayer of protection for Judah (the Southern Kingdom of Divided Israel).  It was amazing to see how God answered that prayer by destroying the enemy in a miraculous way! (Go read 2 Kings 19:35)  What a mighty God we serve! May America repent and truly serve God!

In Christ, Another interesting YouTube from Ron Paul.  Evidently this question and answer was not included in the Fox News rebroadcast of the debate!!!

Thanks for stopping by my blog and leaving a note!
35! We're breakin' out the shorts and sandals! :) Not really, but that does sound warm around here. :) Glad the electicity is back on. That's kind of disconcerting no matter how warm it is.
I have been to that library site before, but don't know how to get back there, so if you have the link or web address, I'd love to have it. Thanks!
Glad to see you are back to blogging. :)

I seek to glorify God and enjoy Him forever! I seek to be a loving, godly wife. I also seek to win the hearts of my children to God. I am thankful for homeschooling and I pray that is never taken away in America!
