"You are amazing"
This is what Dakota said tonite & I dont think I could have come up with a more fitting statement.
Three - four months ago I made him some cards with differant words on them. They had dissapeared one day & when we traded in our Suburban last month we found them under his carseat. I was busy & tossed them in a bin in the house & forgot about them untill I came across them the other day.
So tonite I sat down to rock & read to him & picked them up to look at with him instead of a book. All five of the other dc were with Daddy & it was just him & I, no one interrupting for anything. He has not seen these cards in probably close to 2.5 months. I started reading them to him & then all of a sudden he started to read them to me. He read each color card to me & about half of the others. What he didnt read he said the letters for & then copied me after I read it. He even copied his siblings names & I dont think I have ever heard him say any of them except his oldest brothers. After every 2-3 cards he would say "Good job!" or "Great!" & when we finished the stack he said "You are amazing!". I couldnt agree more, he is amazing.  |
