Expelled

This has been an unbelievable day… the riding lawn mower is stuck on a small knoll; the push mower’s cord is frozen; and I spent hours on the phone today with technical support only to discover that the issue is with our outdated router.  It seemed that nothing was going right.  I sure didn’t get much crossed of the to-do list today.

Bob got in this afternoon but went right to a farm from the airport, so I didn’t see him until almost 8.  He has decided that that was the best weekend he’s ever had.

Have you heard about the documentary Expelled?  I haven’t seen it and I don’t know if it will be shown in our area, but it sounds like a “must see”.  I read a great interview by Rush Limbaugh with the narrator of the movie, Ben Stein – an actor and a Jew.

The movie is about Darwinism and the so-called scientists who promote it.  Have you ever wondered why they cling to their discredited theories so fiercely?  I think Mr. Stein nails it…

Rush:  …it seems that they have a paranoia about the whole concept of God; they cannot allow for one moment the concept that there is a God.  What do they so fear about God?

Mr. Stein:  I think they fear – and this is just a guess, Rush, I haven’t psychoanalyzed them – that if there’s a God, they are going to be judged at some point either in this life or in the afterlife, if there is one, and that they will be found to have been violating moral codes.  They don’t want to be judged.  They want to do whatever they want.  After all, if they are just specks of mud, animated by a lightning strike, they don’t have any moral responsibility to anyone.  If they don’t have some speck of the divine about them, then they can pretty much do anything that they want and there is no judgment of it.  I think they fear the idea of being judge.  From the Limbaugh Letter May 2008

Think about that the next time you notice someone in denial about truth that seems so apparent.

Romans 1:23 + 25 says that they can’t have things both ways… they are either believing the truth (God) or believing lies.  God has put in us a void that can only be satisfied by a relationship with Him.  Romans 1 + 2 says that there are three ways that we are oriented toward God

Through creation (1:20)

Through a sense of judgment (1:32) – Mr. Stein, you are right after all!

Through our conscience (2:15)

Therefore, you are inexcusable, O man. Romans 2:1  I know it’s a documentary, but I hear it’s riveting – try and see it.   Go here to see the trailer… http://www.expelledthemovie.com/.
