Schooling around here!

Here is an honest question to those of you who know us - have you ever wondered how we accomplish anything worthwhile in school? Sometimes I wonder! It occurred to me today that this tiny snippet from today would illustrate my difficulties. Alexandra: *holds up Ancient Greece* So why are you making us read this stuff? Me: *thinks, oh no. where is she going with this? with Alexandra I never know!* Alexandra: I mean, I have already counted 22 naked people in my assigned reading and I'm not done yet! Me: My mistake. I did think that you were discerning enough to avert your eyes and continue in your reading without taking the time to not only look at those pictures but to actually count them! Apparently I was mistaken in your maturity level. Alexandra: Hey!  Madeline counted 20 in her reading!!Madeline:  Me:  .... *sighs.....thinks, why did I come in here in the first place?*Me: okay.... Me: I'm going to take a shower now. Alexandra: I'm not taking a shower now. Me:  I am so relieved. It would have been crowded in there!****** And we continue to discuss the tongue around here. By now everyone has tried it but me. And Emma and Madeline have been added to the tongue fan club. Alexandra, on the best way to eat tongue: Me and Madeline were sitting on the couch eating it and I was thinking, 'This is good! Oh yeah, it's tongue!' See. You just need to eat it without thinking about it!  But she did voice this one complaint: Daddy did not skin the tongue thoroughly! I had a piece that still had some white stuff on it with bumps! It was skin and taste buds! And all Daddy said was, ' It is just the stuff that was beside the taste buds!'  |
