Bible misquotes
We were amused at these slip the kids made while reading Scripture during our morning devotions recently. I thought you might get a smile from them as well. --
Proverbs 30:2 "Surely I am more British than any man..."
(should be "more brutish"!)
1 Thess. 5:14b "warn them that we are unruly..."
(should be without the "we"!)
I can think of several situations where the misquote might be appropriate to the moment than the correct words! Makes me wonder, though, who would be qualified to proclaim himself more British than any other man!!

Also, to Andrew and Sarah: the kids are all using their message boards on their doors and having great fun leaving silly messages, quotes, polls and announcements for one another. Even dad and I have gotten into it!

I love the "surely I am more British", lol. Although I also wondered who would be qualified to say that. :P
Sounds like a line from a movie, after the character does some extremely British-y thing. I'll have to put it in a story sometime.....
And even though the boards are being put to use, sometimes I wonder if it is altogether a sane use. As this poem shows (each line was written by a different person, at various times in the day):
"Somewhere over the rainbow,
There's an ecstatic leprechaun.
Blue birds fly,
My Oh My,
So should I.
If the fur flies,
The furry little bugs,
Will certainly be bald,
Until they aren't furry anymore."
Well, at least we're having fun. :P

I'm so glad they're having so much fun with them! Maybe next year we'll get you and your husband one so that you don't feel left out, haha ;)

Oh, come *on* Madeline! Haven't you ever heard the Gilbert and Sullivan song, "He is an Englishman"? It is more English... now I'm not exactly sure more English than what, but...
