Jun. 17, 2006 - Two months!!! eeek!!!!

Wow!  It's been TWO months since I've blogged???

What have I been doing with myself?

Sigh.

Well, in my defense... MaryVance celebrated her 6th Birthday!

And Luke celebrated his 8th Birthday!

And my father-in-law was here for a month!

And I'm 39 weeks pregnant now...

I guess that's all the excuses I have... and I'll lay off the smilies too!

I'll post back in a bit with pics of my birthday boy and girl.  I know you'll be sitting here waiting...

Apr. 19, 2006 - Whew! What a week!!

What a week!!

Let's see... what news do I have to share?  Oh yes!

Look at what Molly found in our backyard last Wednesday late afternoon.  She heard to dogs barking and went to investigate...

See his lovely pattern?

YEP!  An Eastern Diamondback Rattlesnake!!!

Here he is in all his DEAD glory!

Five meet long, fully mature, 12 plus rattles.

Ya know, we like snakes.  We're not snake-phobic here by any means, but this fella... he gave me serious shivers!  He was about 20 or 25 feet from our back porch...all coiled up and rattling.  You could hear the rattling from the porch.  I'm so proud of the dogs!!  They kept him cornered, barking, darting in and out of his range!  They did a great job of protecting us and alerting us that something was going on!!!

THAT was our excitement for the week!

We are so thankful that he didn't hurt anyone!

Be Blessed (and look where you step!)

And the final product!!

And it tasted as good as it looked!!!

Wooo hooo---I'm one proud Mama!!

And Sam made lunch yesterday too--I forgot to take pictures of him.  He made Poppy Seed Chicken casserole and it was yummy too!!!

Apr. 5, 2006 - Whew ~ What a Monday!

Well, we did it!  We worked really hard on Monday and rearranged the Living Room and got it really clean!  Of course rearranging means moving this to here and that to there about seventeen times, right?!  I'm so thankful for my sons, I just pointed and they pushed, pulled, lifted and got everything like I wanted it :).

Tuesday we kinda took a break from all the Super Cleaning and did laundry.  That's always fun!  LOL  Today they need to finish up laundry and get ready for church!

Yesterday and today Molly and Sam took pictures of the garden.  Several months ago the 'bigs' decided they wanted to have a garden this year.  Tony and I don't know anything about gardening but the folks at church have been really helpful!  Ben and Carol came back in February and broke up a little garden spot for the children.  They've planted potatoes, two kinds of lettuce (that the rabbits are really enjoying!), cabbage and now broccoli.  Here's a good shot of the potatoes.

Here's a cabbage -- Molly said it looks like it's making a head!

A shot of the whole garden!

They are having so much fun with this and they are so proud of theirselves!  A big thank you to everyone who has encouraged them and offered helpful info!!

BE BLESSED today!

Apr. 3, 2006 - A busy weekend!

What a fun, full, busy weekend!!

The children and I spent Friday doing a Super Cleaning and Organizing of the Playroom.  It looks so nice in there and it much for user-friendly.  We started on the Living Room but kinda pooped out.  That will be our project for today.

Saturday we drove over to Tallahassee to help some friends with a project they were working on.  The men did all the hard physical work and the women just 'shared ideas' and fixed supper.  :)  It was fun and a good time for visiting.  The children had a blast and got SO filthy...  We got home around 10pm so two had time for showers before bed.  The others just slept filthy--which reminds me, we need to wash bedding today!--and had baths and showers Sunday morning.

Sunday we were invited to lunch with the Bens from church.  It was very nice, they are such sweet people.  The children enjoyed talking to Ben about airplanes :).  Carol gave us a tour of her shop and we got to watch her big embroidery machine in action.  Carol also sent us home with some aloe vera to plant and some broccoli plants for the garden.

Sunday evening service was a Hymn Sing and it was really nice.  I learned several new hymns and enjoyed the service a lot.

So, now it's Monday...  we need to Super Clean the Living Room and wash bedding.  :)  Guess that won't happen while I'm sitting here typing, huh?!  See ya later!

Be Blessed today!!

Mar. 30, 2006 - What a fun lunch! Thanks B's!!!

What a nice surprise!!!

Last eve at church Ben came up to us with a big wrapped package!  Boy were we surprised :)  Tony read the card and it was from Mrs. B in PA.  He recently had opportunity to help her with some work-related issues.  Ben and his family were in PA and met up with the B's and Mrs. B sent this package to us via Ben.

The children were so excited to get a present!  The package is full of goodies from her area of PA!  Several flavors of jerky, sweet bologna, longhorn cheddar, jellies, ... what else?  Oh, yes, popcorn to pop, shredded coconut--lots of yummy stuff :).

The children wanted to have a snack lunch today with these goodies so we did!  What a fun lunch!!

Thanks B's!  What a sweet blessing to receive!!

Be Blessed!  Look around and find one special Blessing you've received this week :)

Can't eat beef, mad cow...

Can't eat chicken . bird flu

Can't eat eggs ... Salmonella

Can't eat pork ... fears that bird flu will infect piggies

Can't eat fish ... heavy metals in the
waters has poisoned their meat

Can't eat fruits and veggies ... insecticides and herbicides

Hmmmmmmmmm!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I believe that leaves Chocolate!!!!!!!!

Mar. 29, 2006 - Wednesday's Happenings

Well, not much news on the homefront today... let me think...what can I share???

Oh yes--Tony's Physical went well!  He was appropriately poked and prodded (giggle) and surprised with a prostate check (giggle) as his grandfather had prostate cancer.  He's not terribly anxious for the next Physical but he has five long years to dread it (giggle).

I finished up the third dress I'm making for my friend's daughter.  It's pretty cute, if I must say so myself!  Now I need to make three pairs of bloomers and I've decided to surprise her with matching hairbows!  I am having so much fun!!!

Ashey, our cat, had five kittens last week and today the runt died.  :-(  It wasn't unexpected as he looked kinda odd yesterday.  The children were prepared so it didn't upset them too much.  They buried him in the Animal Graveyard.  While out there, they found what they think is deer poo.  Wouldn't that be odd to have deer hanging around and comfy enough to poo in the same yard with three dogs and a puppy?!  LOL

Oh well... many odd things happen around here!

Caleb and Sam made French Toast for breakfast...yummy!  Sam is making Parmesan Pasta for lunch!  They are all becoming quite handy in the kitchen--they enjoy cooking :-).

Guess that's the update for today!

Be Blessed!!

Mar. 28, 2006 - Welcome!

Oh man!  No 'comic sans'...that's my favorite font...Oh well, guess I'll get over it!

Welcome to our family weblog!  I thought this would be a fun way to keep everyone updated on the goings-on in our family (especially the grandparents!)

It's a lovely 79 degrees outside :-).  The children are all outside playing, riding bikes and playing with the puppy.  I'm inside (ha!) playing around with this blog site and sewing.  I'm working on some dresses for my friend Kelly's little darling!  I'm so excited to be sewing for her daughter.  I miss sewing for little girls--my girls are getting so big...sigh.  Tony, well, Tony is at the doctors for a check-up (giggle) -- a "Physical" actually (giggle).  He's never had one and it seemed like time (to me) (giggle).  It's actually mostly an appointment to "interview" a prospective family doctor but I think the "Physical" part is very important too (giggle).  (Wondering exactly what they DO at a Physical...(giggle)).  Yep--kinda cracks me up...(giggle)  I think it's about time Tony got pricked and squeezed and prodded (giggle).  It's usually me on the exam table, with all the ob visits in my history!  I'm just tickled that he gets to have the "pleasure" of a Physical (giggle).  :-)

Several items on the "thinking about it table" at our house... trying to plan a 'trip around the world' for April or May.  Well, not the *whole* world, but especially to visit all the outlaws in our families :-).  We're also toying with the idea of starting our embroidery business back up.  We enjoyed it a lot when we lived in Mississippi but we made a LOT of mistakes that we wouldn't (Lord willing) repeat again!  There's been some interest expressed in the "QuiverWear" line we were selling before and that's what got us to thinking about opening up again.  We'll probably (if we do this) open under a different name as we will be doing more than embroidery.  Still working on name ideas... Actually still praying if this is something we should even undertake or not.  It has so many benefits, especially for the children to learn how a business works and all that jazz.

Phone's ringing....again....We had puppies to give away and put them in the local paper.  The phone is ringing OFF the hook and the puppies are all gone!  Today is the last day the ad will be in the paper--whew!

Well, Ike wants to "hold ju" so I better go spend some time with him!

Be blessed today--open your eyes and see all He has done for you!!
