Friday, February 6, 2009 - Claiming this word
Posted By MamaBugs in Military Life

I marked a post written by A. (her blog is not public - sorry) way back in December. This was weeks prior to Beloved deploying this time around but I was moved by the scripture she shared. I knew then I wanted to claim it as my help through this deployment. It's time to share it now....

Psalm 121

I lift up my eyes to the hills - where does my help come from? My help comes from the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth. He will not let your foot slip - he who watches over you will not slumber; indeed, he who watches over Israel will neither slumber nor sleep. The LORD watches over you - the LORD is your shade at your right hand; the sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon by night. The LORD will keep you from all harm - he will watch over your life; the LORD will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore.

Monday, February 2, 2009 - SImple Woman's Daybook
Posted By MamaBugs in Simple Woman's Daybook
Outside My Window...are the new umbrella lights we put up on the lanai. They were sparkling like tiny little stars last night.
I am thinking...of all the things I need to do, should do, want to do (and aren't doing any of them.)
I am thankful for...the knowledge that today's loneliness from deployment will pass and tomorrow will be better
From the learning rooms...comes frustration with myself. I need to hold us both accountable to the work that needs to be done.
From the kitchen...comes survival meals for right now.
I am wearing...,my jammies still
I am creating...a mess of undone projects on my table
I am going...in circles right now
I am reading...First Light by B & B Thoene and retaining little of it
I am praying...oh yes I am
I am hearing...construction sounds from the historic homes next door and across the street, doves are cooing, but I hear sirens and the Japanese national anthem as well. I woke to reveille at 0630 from the Pearl Harbor side as usual.
Around the house...are numerous things to be done
One of my favorite things...are emails, letters and phone calls from Iraq
A Few Plans For The Rest Of The Week...yeah right *L* THIS is the face of deployment. I will get it together but thought it was important to share that some days are just that...days to be survived and marked off the calendar. And even that much is good.
Please note - I/we are doing really well overall but I like being honest and transparent and not all deployment days are chipper and happy. The bad days come and go. This is one of them. I think there would be something wrong with us if we didn't feel it occassionally and miss him like crazy.  I don't need anyone to fix anything or even to worry about us. A little prayer sent up on our behalf is always welcome though! *S*

Sunday, January 25, 2009 - NEED PRAYER WARRIORS RIGHT NOW!!!
Posted By MamaBugs in Interceding for...

I just received this posting and update:

I have a burden to share. I just received a phone call from my Momma. It seems that there is a Marine from here in Northern Kentucky, who is deployed to Afghanistan. I haven’t found his unit or his locations. It really doesn’t matter at this point.

His wife and family received a call that all military families dread. B.B. was injured in a roadside blast. His injuries are numerous. They are currently trying to get him stabilized. I told Momma that they would more than probably be sending him to Landstuhl for further treatment before flying him back home.

Please pray that every Marine that was injured in the blast. Please pray for strength for their family. Please pray for the flight to arrive in record time. Please pray for the Doctor’s skill in doing the best in this situation. And please pray for those Angels that will be standing by ‘Our Guys’ sides. I know there will be one or more there waiting for the plane.

UPDATE: 00:35hrs EST 25 Jan 2009

just put up the update, Prayers are needed in great supply. B.B. headed to surgery. Please continue to pray for him and his brothers in arms…

H/T Knee Deep in the Hooah!
