I do know moms like that and it does make me evaluate whether I can be like that. I will definately be praying for a humble heart and a teachable spirit.

I do have to be careful. Sometimes I think I really do know a lot, and with that what is best for others. Gotta keep that mirror handy!

I just did a blog on 1 Peter 3:13-16. It came to mind again as I read this article.Although the passage is in reference to sharing our faith, the principles can be applied here, too.

1. We are to be prepared to give an answer to "...everyone who asks..." Oh! I don't have to go out and slather my opinions and "wisdom" all over everyone, just with those who ask.

2. When I do share, I'm not to do it with pride and disdain, but with "gentleness and respect." That is a huge key.

Oh dear God, help me to put away my own self-elevating pride and share what you would have me share, where you would have me share, when you would have me share, gently and respectfully. The rest of the time, help me to keep my mouth shut!
