Hi, thanks for starting this blog. I wrote a 2000 word article about Boy Scouts for TOS and the main feedback that I got was that people thought it should have included AHG. We have three boys of scouting age and a lot to say about the BSA but not much info and no experience with AHG. Sorry if anyone feels slighted. I'd encourage you to approach Gena about writing a piece on AHG, I'm sure she'd be happy to hear from you.
We hoped to involve our 5yo in AHG when she reached the age. According to the locator you linked, the nearest troop is 50 miles away and we've discussed starting a related AHG troop. But we just started a Boy Scout troop for our sons last year and it's a lot of work. The other moms in our circle want an AHG troop but haven't taken the lead. I'm hoping someone else will. We like the idea of AHG but one family can only take on so much, especially when so many other families are doing so little.
Thanks again for making this site and God bless your efforts. -jay |
