Old Farmhouse Stairs

It's a good thing I am in fairly good shape because old farmhouses always have stairways.  Our old house in the city had a double length stairway so it probably was the same distance. This one turns and turns.

Go up a few steps and then you must turn. And yes that is the most convenient lace for a changing table in the downstairs area. Why go up to change a baby ten times a day.

This is the longest area of the stairs but it isn't over because now you must turn again.

Then this will finally get you upstairs.

All the bedrooms and one bathroom are off this hall. The hallway actually looks shorter than it is plus it was hard to take pictures of the stairs in the narrow environment that they are.

Isn't that woodwork awesome. And it is all hardwood floors throughout except the bathrooms and the kitchen.

Farmhouses are neat.

Blessings.

Thank you for visiting my blog so often! I really enjoy your comments! Your blog is also so enjoyable! I envy your daughter...I would love to have my mother involved in my children's lives as you are with your grandchildren....but she isn't a believer.

Sorry I never got to your questions. As far as preparing for winter...this year I learnd much from last winter. We bought a snow blower, I am more metally prepared, we doubled the size of our propane tank and filled it up. Most of my preparing has been in thinking of ways to make the passing of winter more enjoyable. I bought some new games and books. My menus have been more hearty and filling. I have changed my mindset to be excited about the long winter. I really want the kids to look back and enjoy the long winter..not have a feeling like they were always waiting for them to be over!

As far as feeling warm...WOOL! Wool socks, wool sweaters, and lot of long underwear!!

Oh my goodness! I was looking through people's blogs and came across yours. We used to live in a house that was built in 1910 and had stairs exactly like yours. The upstairs doors looked the same as well as the trim! Ours used to squeek!
