I just don't understand...

Posted in Family Life

We have had two couples that are very close to us tell us that they want a divorce in the last week.  One couple came over last night just to tell us that they were going to file for divorce over the next year and go their separate ways peacefully.  Dan did a lot of counseling last night with them.  I am floored!!!  Why is marriage such a throw away concept today?  My brain is so busy with all the things that have happened over the past 24 hours...

Would love to blog more but we have Bible study this morning and lots of things pressing in on me today.

I don't get it either, but it happens, and it sucks.

I don't know Leann...I admit that in the past I've thought about divorce ALOT and at times it seemed that it was the only way out. Thank goodness God has been there as a venting buddy for me and as a counselor. I couldn't do without Him.

It's Everywhere

It's everywhere anymore. The saddest part is that these people feel totally justified in their actions. So sorry you have to deal with this as I know how burdensome these situations are. Take care!

Leann, it's like that with this couple in our small group. She's adamant, and is beginning to erase all evidence of him from the house and he appears to have just given up and abdicated all responsibility. I KNOW there is a way forward for them but neither of them is willing to listen to counsel, hope these couples your hubby is talking to have more open hearts.

It's everywhere

This is the exact thing that has been on my heart and that I have been burdened to pray for, Christian marriages especially. I believe that Satan takes special delight in breaking up Christian marriages as they are the shadow or "tabernacle" of our (Christians) marriage to Christ. We know personally 3 couples, just since July, that have had one person commit adultery and two of them are getting divorced with absolutely no remorse from the sinning spouse. The other is a former pastor of ours and they are attempting to reconcile their marriage. I believe we as individuals and the churches need to cover Christian marriages in prayer faithfully. SOrry for the epistle, it is just raw on my heart! Blessings
