Cottage Industry

Definition:
An industry where the creation of products and services is home-based, rather than factory-based. While products and services created by cottage industry are often unique and distinctive given the fact that they are usually not mass-produced, producers in this sector often face numerous disadvantages when trying to compete with much larger factory-based companies.

Things I am interested in building as a business in the short term:

*   Writing for publication

*   Cooking or catering in some way

*   Buying and reselling homes after fixing them up

I am also interested in teaching the children to build their own businesses and having a family business of some kind.  Dan and I have been contemplating this for some time now and we believe this is the year to start doing something about it.
