Jan. 5, 2006 - your suburban

Posted by inashoe

I have a big white suburban (91, but it would be the same body style as yours). We recently outgrew it and bought a newer 15 passenger van, but I'm secretly happy when hubby takes the van and I'm "forced" to drive the old rusty suburban with no a/c and a driver side window that won't roll down.
I just love the comfy seats, the wide profile, the smooth acceleration, and the way that beast handles!

We have so much in common - I was a theater major with a minor in voice. I play piano - though I do play in church. What's the story behind that one? I lead worship once a month. There used to be a guy at our church who played the penny whistle, but he moved, which made me very sad. I have four kids, love to read and write. But I'm not crunchy! Purple is my favorite color. No wonder we get along!

Oh, and my kids are vaccinated. ~gasp~

I couldn't help it. I felt like I was looking into a mirror. Here goes:

I am a Christian, and have been for 26 years.
I’m a minister’s wife
I am the mother of three, but when you count foster children I almost always have four
I play the flute, and started in the 6th grade
I also played the piccolo
I was the fill-in drum major in high school, when ours was sick/out
I attended Howard Payne University (you Hardened Sinner! Ha!)
I changed my major after two years (Christian Ed to Communications)
I’m a SAH and Homeschooling mom
I’m a member of the praise team at church
I love to write … love reading too
Taught myself to knit and crochet online this year
I hate laundry, and have worked it so my husband does the dishes every night :)
I’m eclectic in my tastes
I’m fairly crunchy
I’m also a big home improvement gal
My favorite color is black (oh well, it’s not like we’re twins!)
I’m a total nerd, dweeb, dork
Oh, well see … I AM perfect. Again, we can’t be twins!
I’ve always been a horrible girlfriend – only knew how to be friends with guys
I also love to make/eat divinity – which ruined the song “Beauty of Simplicity” for me … because in one of the verses it says, “It’s the beauty of simplicity that fills me with eternity. I’ve tasted your divinity, and Lord I love you” I always get the giggles now when we sing that in church. I keep thinking, “Man, I bet God makes some kick butt divinity!”

Sorry to waste space! ha!

We have alot in common! I was wondering, was the oboe easy for you? I also have played several instruments, and still sometimes play piano & flute. My favorite instrument was the xylophone, but I thinking of possibly learning the oboe. Can you tell me anything about it? Thanks!
