Trying to break caffeine habit...

I am two days into my new way of life...no caffeine! When I started working at the bookstore, I found myself not only drinking my usual two cups of coffee in the morning but also having at least two sodas while I was there! Yikes! Mary, a friend from church, and also the mom of my friend the bookstore owner, introduced me to green tea with juice in it. I am in love with it. I brew fresh green tea, Mary uses Arizona's bottled green tea, you can go either way, and then add in Pom © juice.

You pour the tea into a pitcher and then add enough Pom © to make it a deep red color.

Green tea is a known anti-oxident and then add the Pom © to it and you have a super tasting, super anti-oxident drink. The website states:
"The juice from pomegranates is one of nature’s most powerful antioxidants. In fact, studies show that POM Wonderful Pomegranate Juice has more polyphenol antioxidants than any other drink. Yes, more than red wine, green tea, blueberry juice, cranberry juice and orange juice."

Fabulous! This is really going to get me through the rest of the hot summer here, but when the cooler weather hits, I will have to find another yummy substituite that's hot. Anyone know of something I could do when it's cold out?

Thanks for your email...both parts (hehehehehe)

I can't wait to see you in a few weeks and get back into the swing of things!

Sounds great! Thanks for the tip. I keep wanting to buy those cute little pom bottles, but I have no idea what to do with them!

~Stick to your guns on the foster kids. You won't regret it. I know its hard, but there is another place for them that's more appropriate. You don't want to have a full house when YOUR right kids come along! :) Glad you are keeping a positive attitude!

I really haven't had a headache, I've been quite surprised by that, but very glad.

Sparrow, thank you for the encouragement of sticking to my guns, and what you said about there being a better place for the ones we were called about. It is hard to remember at times that we aren't the only family God has called to do this! It broke my heart yesterday to think of those kids, in and out of care. Too bad Tiffany isn't already licensed, she might have been called and they are willing to take that age of children!

I am going to go through that Pom site more, they have recipes...

I think green tea has caffeine in it, but I'm not sure how much. It certainly seems to have more benefits than coffee, especially mixed with that cute little bottle of juice. Good for you trying to wean from coffee. I like hot chocolate, but there is sooo much sugar in it that I get restless. Maybe you can heat up your green tea/juice mixture. Mmmm. I'm now thinking of drinking more tea myself!
