Tag Tired

[The following is a satire, that should not be taken personally, or fully seriously. It is more of a "joke." Have fun]

I don't want to be a spoilsport or anything, but is anyone a little tired, as I am, of this whole tagging business? I saw it start, and how it's changed and evolved over the past few weeks. In fact, I have immensely enjoyed this game.

But now, tagging must end. In all it's glory, it must end.

I know who started tagging, and it was truly an interesting idea. But you could just ask a person what their favorite ice cream flavor is...and not start a wave. Maybe I'm just "annoyed" and messing up the fun. Or perhaps I'm voicing the feelings of a few fellow bloggers. We say "farewell to the great tag game on the blogs! You were fun, but now, it is time to take a break!"

My legs are tired.

Perhaps you'll continue, and I'm not the one to make things stop, but these things have to end sometime. Friends, if you want to continue tagging--then tag all the more. But if my voiced concerns and tiredness are found in your souls as well, then let us finish the game.

Let's move on to bigger and better things. Let's get blogging. Let's focus.

So, we move on, to perhaps a greater time. People, welcome to the post-tagging era.

(Some of this was done in a joking manner, but my "concerns" are still true.)

You are a future leader, Tim, clearly. I think a lot of people are sooo new to blogging that they sometimes want to "play" awhile before they really get into the nitty gritty of serious blogging. That's the beauty of the blog. ;-)

You can play, be serious, etc. It's so neat to see the diversity. Hope your trip to Cali was good!

Jul. 22, 2005 - Let them have their fun

Five words.
You don't have to participate.

Many people use this medium as a method to meet people. So far it's worked great. Some rounds are a bit silly but who cares? Don't be a downer.

For your own reputation IMHO you should remove this post as soon as possible to prevent needless flames and hurt feelings of those who DO like to tag.

LOL! I see the satire in it, and I think your post is funny!

I also have a closet dislike of tagging. I never respond to being tagged, and try not to read tags. They are too interview-ish. But I know the newbies want to do it. We can't deny them their bit of fun, can we?

That's the beauty of blogging -- that we can all write what we like (which is precisely why I think Commenter #2 is wrong about your needing to remove this post - it's curious that flamers always seem to be "anonymous.").

Jul. 22, 2005 - I don't want any hurt feelings....

Anonymous...this post is not against tagging, which can be really awesome. It's like Mrs. Saurez said...a way to get started in blogging.

My mom had said that this post might receive some comments from those who really love tagging. I understand that. If you'd like to continue tagging--tag all the more! If it's helping this blog community grow, and learn, and reach, then blog all the more.

This is satire, and doesn't mean that I'm "anti-tagging."

I hope this does not lead you to not read my blog, or other writings. Perhaps I'm not a satire writer, and need to stick with my analysis.

I agree! Tagging IS getting a little old...especially when you have to answer the same questions over and over!

Awww...you know you're really tired of the tagging thing, but are just being polite so as not to hurt the feelings of others. I commend you for your sensitivity though and honestly know that you are not alone in your feelings. It's a shame that some people can be so sensitive about something so trivial. While these things can be fun at times, I wish they would ask easier questions-- I mean, it's really hard to come up with your favorite book or movie of all time...who can choose some of these things? Can't they just rephrase it to "List a few of your favorite movies" just to kinda get the feel for a person? Okay, so is everyone going to tag me now just to spite me? :-) I'm sure I would just politely decline as that requires too much thinking for this oft-times weary homeschooling mama. ~Marsha
