6 July 2008 - Bye Bye Colorado

We moved to Colorado just a few years ago in June of '06.  We had a rough introduction and meeting.  BUT...we've worked things out and had a nice last year.  Now, it's time to say good bye and off to our new adventure.  We leave this Thursday and I'm sooo excited!  We will have our internet cut off in the next day or so, so that's why I'm writing this post now.  :)  I will be blogging every once in a while, while we're visiting our family in Alabama.  And even worse once we leave for Germany.

I hope you all have a great week!  Think of me as I'll be packing, cleaning and more cleaning.  Jealous?  LOL.  Just kidding.

30 June 2008 - Simple Woman Daybook

FOR TODAY Monday, 30 JUNE 2008...
Outside My Window... the sun is shining...what a glorious day!
I am thinking... about our move next week!
I am thankful for... God providing for our family during this stressful time.
From the kitchen... I need to clean later on today.
I am wearing... a black shirt w/crocheted sleeves and skirt.
I am creating... lapbooks for our trip to Germany.
I am going... to my hubby's promotion ceremony in a little while!  YEAH!
I am reading... "Growing Up" by Kirk Cameron.
I am hoping... things will be better/cooled down before we get to Alabama.
I am hearing... tooo much...need to focus on listening to God's voice more!
Around the house... it's a mess...sorting through papers and more!
One of my favorite things... is that we found bookshelves and a coffee table for cheap!  YEAH!
A Few Plans For The Rest Of The Week:  We are getting this ready for our move...busy, busy, busy!
Here is picture thought I am sharing...(Sorry, no pics of hubby as they did his promotion in the building where you can't have cell phones or cameras.  BUT a guy did take pics...military guy...and we'll have pics sometime this week.)

(To participate in this, please click on the picture above for directions.  Thank you to "Training Hearts" for the link!)

26 June 2008 - The Heat is Getting to ME!!!!!/Blessing My Hubby

Okay, this heat here in Colorado is getting to me!  :(  I'm dealing with that and allergies.  Friday and Saturday, I felt horrible.  Then, Monday and Tuesday and all day today I have been soooo sick with the heat.  You see, we have no a/c here at home....as Colorado has fans or window units.  Blah.  And we would have to pay for them...no thanks!  Anyways, we leave here in 2 weeks---WOOO HOOOO!!!!!!  I'm sooo glad we will be out of this heat.  We're going to visit family and EVERYONE has central air!  I will be in heaven for a bit...and then when we get to Germany, once again, no a/c.  LOL...  Oh well.

-----------

In what ways do you bless your husband?  I don't get up very early and when I do, I'm not the best morning person.  (I'm working on it...)  Well, tomorrow, everyone has to get up early and hubby has to leave even earlier.  Sooo instead of rushing for breakfast, I made it already.  I made biscuits and gravy.  All hubby will have to do is heat them up for a few seconds and then eat and go.  :)  PLUS...it will not heat up our kitchen!  And the kids will be able to eat and I can do some small cleaning while they are eating.

Don't forget to bless your hubby.  They work sooo hard for us and for the family...and sometimes never get the blessings they should get.  Sometimes it's not about getting him something...it's about doing something.  Having breakfast ready for him in the morning, doing his chores before he gets home, putting his clothes away, ironing his clothes, etc... are just some of the ways you can bless your hubby.  In our home, hubby takes out the trash and cleans toilets.  I don't like to do either of those things, but every now and then, I do them.  You're not "required" to do anything...but why wouldn't you want to?

Bless your husband...

22 June 2008 - WOW!!!!!!!!! Be still my heart!

Looking at the countdown timer, I just still can't believe it!  :)  We have 2 weeks and a few days left here in Colorado!  I can't believe I'll be in Germany in less than 50 days,  I'll be in GERMANY!!!!!  Be still my beating heart!  I'm overflowing in thankfulness that we are going.  I know that beyond a shadow of a doubt God has His wonderful hand in this.  I've been wanting to go my whole life and have had chances to go before...but it's not worked out.  Now, we're really and truly going!

We have been working on different things for each of us.  Hubby has school to focus on and pass.  (If he doesn't pass...we pay for the class..yucky!)  Plus, he still has day-to-day work and he will be Out Processing over these next 2 weeks.  The kids are doing well, listening to us and getting more and more excited each and every day.  I know they want to leave now!  :D  I am working on cleaning and getting things to be ready and easier for our movers.  We are bringing everything, EVERYTHING, from the upstairs to the downstairs so they can just come to our living room and pack everything there.  Otherwise, they'll be going up and down the stairs all day long...and tracking dirt up and down too.  No, thanks.  Saving me from cleaning, and saving their backs from going up and down stairs all day.  :)

I hope everyone has a great week!
