The things that I'd do for a 5 dollar gift certificate to amazon.com!!
I had a phone call today from one of those political researchers. They warned me that it would be a good 20 minute questionaire, but I would get a gift certificate to amazon.com if I finished it. So, I bit the bullet, and answered all of the questions. All I could think of, is that long list of books that I want to buy. It was probably a huge waste of my time, but at least I got to get my opinion out there, and get a gift certificate. Some of the questions involved the whole education issue, and what I thought about education reform. I was honest and said...I could care less about the public school system  . I could tell that the lady didn't quite know how to take me! lol! Then...I really through her for a loop. She asked me what my employment was, and I said..I am a homemaker, and a home educator. She paused for a moment to think about that one. Then she said...but do you get paid? And I had to say no. But hey! Being a home educator is the best job in the world! There are alot of us out there, and it's about time people knew that what we do IS a job. Even thought we don't get paid, it takes alot of work on our part to educate our children. So, I am now anxiously waiting to get my gift certificate. Living books...here I come!! |
