Nothing frustrates me more, than having a vacuum cleaner stop sucking in the middle of vacuuming up a huge mess. Yesterday I was trying really hard to get at least two rooms in the house clean so I could take some pictures for our adoption application. I straightend the book shelves, had the kids take the toys upstairs, and then pulled out my vacuum. Gable had been playing with the hole puncher earlier in the morning, and had spilled hundereds of little paper cirlces everywhere. I wasn't too worried, because my trusty ol' hoover has never failed me. UNTIL now. It would suck...then spit it out. Suck, and then spit it out. I was so mad I could have thrown the whole contraption out the door. I was able to borrow the neighbors vacuum cleaner, but that was a hard one to figure out to use. At least it sucked up the paper circles.
But now, I am without a vacuum cleaner, and those things don't come cheap these days.
I ran into another contest just now, and the prize is get this...a vacuum cleaner!! I don't win prizes very often, so my hopes are not up. But it sure would be a blessing!!

**Just to give you all a small adoption update, although we haven't gotten too far into the process yet...I have been busily filling out our initial application, and talking to people about our options for financing. I have been so blessed to have a donation be made toward our fund today. You don't even know how much that blesses us!
I was reading Sue's blog yesterday, and I realized that adoption is not only a blessing to us as the adoptive family, but a ministry to the child being brought into the home. It's a ministry that deserves supporting. Sue had the most wonderful idea, to ask if people could donate just 1 dollar toward their adoption. If 10,000 people donated just 1 dollar, that is half of the adoption costs right there. I encourage you, if you feel led by the Lord to help support this family's adoption, donate a dollar. They are currently waiting to bring home a little girl named Arama from the country of Ghana. **
