Jun. 9, 2008 - well

I didn't get to go on that trip with my grandma after all. But my cousin is here now. She came over yesterday and we called my friend Tyler, who she met last summer, and he came over for awhile. My other cousin (lives in town) cam over far a while, too.

My dog died this morning! We found him dead in the school room. My mom called my dad's work and they let him come home early. My brother was the one that found him. He didn't realize that he was dead though, out first. He came to me and told me that the dog had blood around his mouth (yucky!). I went to look, and he was dead. It was freeky. His name was Merlin. He was about 10 yrs old so I guess he just had a stroke or something. My dad buried him outside. It's really sad. Our other dog came with us when we went to get milk today. She'll probably be coming with us a lot now that Merlin is gone.

On the bright side, our baby chickens are doing well. They are really cute.

More later....

May. 31, 2008 - HELLO....

I'm sorry that I haven't been coming on as often as I should.

In a week I will probably be going with my grandma and cousin and hopefully my sister to pick up my other cousin so she can come visit for 2 weeks. She should be here when my mom has the baby, so that'll be kinda cool.

Myself, my older sister, and some friends of our are throwing a baby shower for our moms. They're both expecting their sixth babies. That'll be on the 6th. I hope it's not raining on that day, because it'll be outside. A lot of people are coming, so it better not rain.

Hello.

Not much. I went to a recital yesterday to watch a few friends play.

It snowed the night before last but it's all melted off. Now everything is just wet.

Jan. 18, 2008 - stuff

Last night was a play practice for A Midsummer Night's Dream. It was pretty nice. I can't wait until we start acting on stage, it's a lot more fun, and it's easier for me to get into it. Oh, I got to "lavitate" for the first time! (Those of you who are confused, don't be afraid to ask!) Yeah, and my sister wasn't even there. I went with Ashley and her friend (not using names on here).
I've had "blessed Be Your Name" stuck in my head because we played it at band practice. I'm listening to it now.

Jan. 18, 2008 -

Hello.

Yesterday my mom took me to my piano lesson. *sigh* I have MEMORIZE this 5 page Beethoven song for the recital. I also am working on Lion and You Never Know (is that the one we'll do?) for the talent show. I'm hoping to have Lion memorized. Then my sister signed me up for a solo as well, for which I'll do Hundred by the Fray. I also have to play that song for a performance class. At least I have a really good excuse to practice.

I can't tell you how happy I am about my band. After several months of doing nothing with myself, I finally have something. I go to band practice and everyone's so happy and we open with prayer... It's a really nice feeling. We have Jake playing for us now, which is a little strange because I year ago I would have never in a million years thought that he'd be playing with us. I never thought I would let him. lol I feel a lot different than I did a few weeks ago. I was getting no where, my older sister leaving me every day for school. It's not a great feeling when I watch her ride drive off to school nearly every morning. It seems like the more she's gone, the farther away she seems, even when she is at home (do you get what I mean?).

There was one night, when a lot of things were happening, i was really stressed, and I went out and sat down at the piano that's on our porch. As I played, it got dark outside, but even thought I could hardly see the keys, I played better than I've EVER played before. I just started playing, making it up the whole time; going up and down the piano. (Hey Ashes, you know that song that I wrote? That was SMALL PART of what I made up that night. I took that little part, and never forgot it.)

Thanks to those who read!

Jo

Jan. 18, 2008 - The words that you can't find for yourself...

Have you ever listened to lyrics in a song, and knew that those words were exactly the words that you'd been trying to find for yourself all along? I do that all the time with Hanson. Even if that's not what the whole song meant, you notice a little quote or a part that reminds you of yourself, of what seems like is happening. Is anyone laughing at me? If you're not, be prepared.

Quotes from Hanson:

"If only you could feel what I dream, maybe you could hear what I mean."

"I'm dying to be alive, yeah, not trying to just survive, yeah. Let's not go through our lives, without just dying to be alive, yeah!"

"Little angel you got to learn to fly
Get up and earn your wings tonight
Little angel just look in my eyes
Get up and earn your wings tonight

Push and shove then climb aboard
This is the shuttle train to the top of the world
When you look around what do you see
These are all high flyers
But none of these high flyers look like me

What is that supposed to mean ?
What am I supposed to be? "

"You really got a hold on me. You really got a hold on this feeling good, You really got control of me...."

And last but most certainly not least:

"Tell me does it move you, does it soothe you, does it fill your heart and soul with the roots of rock 'n' roll?"

If you're laughing, then you shouldn't be. :P

Jan. 14, 2008 - Blessed... blessed... blessings! OH yeah!

Our band is really sounding good. We have electric guitars and everything and we have a really cool sound with the piano added to the electric guitars, and Jake and Ashley's voices sound really great together. We had a really nice practice yesterday.

Jan. 8, 2008 - Funny Things Are Everywhere...

Well, I'm going to be in another play. The first rehearsal was yesterday but I had to miss it because I had to go food shopping. Isn't that just great? At least we do go food shopping.
My band is hoping to get together this week. Last week we not only didn't have a place to practice, but not everyone could come. In fact, only one person (besides me and my sister) could come. So we just had her over and we played a few songs. We did Never Alone by Barlowgirl, You Never Know by Hanson, And Lion by RSJ. We're going to play some oldies so that we can play for people at parties and stuff and they'll know the song so they can sing along. We're doing Splish Splash, Teach your Children, A bunch of Creedence Clearwater Revival (I love them), and a lot of other stuff.

Nov. 10, 2007 - School of Rock...

I haven't posted in forever. Sorry 'bout that.
We did this thing called school of rock. All of our band members did it with us. Our leader, Matt, has been playing guitar for thirty years so he taught all of us a lot.
We had our concert!!!  It was a lot of fun. The only thing that i really had a problem with was that the piano was not on the stage, it was next to it. But other than that it was awesome. We also got another guitarist and he's really good. He had never practiced with us before but he got us on stage and played with us. It sounded really good.

Aug. 7, 2007 - I got tagged...

I got tagged!

(for these first two, Jo said that anyone who hasn't done this can do it... so here ya go!)

Rules: Every time you are tagged you must copy and paste the story on your post and add 2 lines and tag 7 others. If you choose to end a story it must be more then 20 lines and you must start another one with 2 lines and tag 7 people. Story must not exceed 50 lines. Post these rules on your blog.

Once upon a time there was an awesome guitarist named Gary. Gary was amazing; he could play any song you can think of.
Well, like any awesome guitarist, Gary started a band called Gary’s Band. After a while they weren’t getting any gig and such until one day they got a phone call.
It was a friend of Matt Thiessen from Relient K who had heard them one time when Gary's band was playing at a youth function. They were blown away when he told them that he thought they were good enough to go on tour with the group.
With the guys in Gary's band ecstatic to be playing with such an awesome group as Relient K, they packed up and took off to California. While on the way to California it began to rain heavily.
Gary began to worry they wouldn't make it to California to play! So they just sat, somberly, looking out of the windows.
Then things started to get worse. First off, the rain wasn't rain at all; Gary saw when he looked harder.
It was hail. And as he looked, the hail began to grow larger.
Soon it was the size of ping-pong-balls! "We got to stop!" Matt Thiessen yelled back from the steering wheel.
So they kept going till they came to a small town called Happy Town. They went to a hotel but when they went in, there was nobody there, then all of a sudden the door closed behind them.
They tried to open the door, but it was LOCKED. So they decided they would just go to sleep.
So they found 3 rooms and went to sleep. When they were all awake, they decided to go find the kitchen.
When they found it, they opened all the doors. But all that was in there was tomatoes and pineapples.
So they ate them. All of a sudden the floor opened, and Matt Thiessen fall through before they could stop him.
Under the floor was a secret hideout for Thugs! The thugs were not there so they did not have to fight anyone.
Matt said, "How am I going to get out of here?" Then the thugs jumped out from behind a door.
One of the thugs grabbed Matt's arms while another grabbed his feet. They busily began tying ropes around them while a third thug supervised.
Matt suddenly had a brainstorm! Meaning that the hail from outside was now falling on his head.
While he was being tied up, he said that his only regret to life was that he had never met an Elvis impersonating Penguin. One of the thugs said, "I can do a great impersonation of Elvis!"
He pulled off the black mask that he was wearing and underneath was a pink penguin. "I just wanna be your teddy bear!" he sang!
Then, while all the other thugs were watching him dance, Gary and the others pulled Matt back up with a rope. They ran to the door so that the thugs wouldn’t get them, but the door was still locked!!They decided that they would have to break out of a window. The only problem was that the only window in the whole building was at the very top of the tower where they could hear a mysterious groaning. Then suddenly, they heard the door creak open. Matt jumped up and turned around, and the others turned their heads slowly. It was a scary-looking man playing the Great Divide by Hanson on a green and blue electric guitar. He threw them a rope and left, locking the door again.

Okay, now the lyrics to a cool song!:

I've been down~By Hanson

I’ve been down
I’ve been down
I’ve been down before
I’ve been down
I’ve been down
But never this low
I’ve been down
I’ve been down
I’ve been down before
I’ve been down
I’ve been down
But never this low

You know that even a strong man falls
And even a wise man has to learn
Ooo Ooo Ooo
Yes it’s true that some men have it all
While me and the rest just crash and burn
Ooo Ooo Ooo

You keep telling me something
But I heard it once or twice
You’ve been taking every turn wrong
I’ve been taking your advice

I’ve been down
I’ve been down
I’ve been down before
I’ve been down
I’ve been down
But never this low
I’ve been down
I’ve been down
I’ve been down before
I’ve been down
I’ve been down
But never this low

I know the day will come
When all my worries now are dead and gone
Ooo Ooo Ooo
But assume tomorrow by what’s gone
But I’ll be right here holding on
Ooo Ooo Ooo

Well, you keep telling me something
But I’ve heard it once or twice
You’ve been taking every road that’s wrong
And I’ve been taking your advice

I’ve been down
I’ve been down
I’ve been down before
I’ve been down
I’ve been down
But never this low
I’ve been down
I’ve been down
I’ve been down before
I’ve been down
I’ve been down
But never this low

Said Oooooo
Said Ooooooo
Never this low

I’ve been down
I’ve been down
Said ooooo
I’ve been down
I’ve been down
Never this low
I’ve been down
I’ve been down
No no no no oh yeah
I’ve been down
I’ve been down
Oh yeah

Sing it now
I’ve been down
I’ve been down
I’ve been down before
I’ve been down
I’ve been down
But never this low
I’ve been down
I’ve been down
I’ve been down before
I’ve been down
I’ve been down
But never this low

 Been There Before~ Hanson

There's a downtown corner, people downtown know
And a back beat rhythm on the radio
And the girl who listens
To a young man's song
On the block I live on
In the place I'm from

Well the young man sitting
On the dock of the bay
He took a longterm trip
On a first class plane
Now the whole world listens
To that one man's song
On the block I live on
In the place I'm from

Tell me, does it move you
Does it soothe you
Does it fill your heart and soul
With the roots of rock & roll

Well the man in black sits
On a screened in porch
Making birthday wishes
Seventy one almost
You can hear him singing
Chariots swing low
On the block I live on
In the place I know

Tell me, does it move you
Does it soothe you
Does it fill your heart and soul
With the roots of rock & roll

Na na na na na I've been there before

When you can't get through it
You can listen to it

Jun. 1, 2007 - Hello...

Hello. I know I haven't posted in a very long time. I have been so busy and I have so much to say!

Another play is coming up. I think auditions start tommorrow. Oh, by the way, I had a LOT of fun at the cast party. We went bowling andI found out what a good bowler I am, and I got to spend some time with my friends (who I miss).

My dad told my sister that if she got a job that both of us could try out for the next play (it's a musical called Remember When), but he said that if she doesn't get a job that neither of us can do it. I think he changed his mind though, when I went outside to help him shovel horse manuer for our garden this year. When he said," Well, I might let you do the play, even if your sister doesn't get a job." I was thinking, I sure hope so!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My sister still doesn't have a job, but she has an aplication, and I think that my dad said that she could do the play because she's trying.

We did the song ~How To Save A Life~ By the Fray with our band. we performed it at the talent show (We only had three days to learn it!!). Well, that didn't go too well. We didn't have a microphonw on the piano, so nobody even hear it. We all just weren't ready for it yet. We only had three days to practice, and I was not ready on the piano.  But that's okay, because our second performance at the youth arts festival was great!!

Our band is getting more members! We are going to have a bass guitar player, an acoustic guitar player, two more singers, and it will be so cool. we're going to get together this Summer and practice some songs. We just got some new music books off of ebay.

For tap, well... Remeber how I said that we did our second performance of How to Save a Life at the Youth Arts Festival, well, we also had a tap show. We were sick of each other after that, because we had tap class almost everyday for a week to get this show down. Oh yeah, and we finished the show ONE DAY before the show. It was so rushed, and we didn't do too well at the show. We didn't really mess up, but we could have used more practice. And the floor ws very slick. My sister almost slipped, and we had to be very careful when we did the spins. After that, we took a few weeks off tap. That was good, because after having tap class and seeing eveyone else so often, I think we all needed a break. Espeacally since we were in such a rush, we had to have tap class at seven forty-five A.M. once. We got there and we were all very tired. Then that night, we had the patriots ball (where eveyone gets dressed up and goes and folk dance and stuff) and we all went to that. Gosh that wore me out. It was a lot of fun though. I got see to some friends that i don't get to see very often, and I LOVE folk dancing.

I don't think that I'm going to proof read this.

Three of my younger siblings are sick today. I have to stay home and help my mom take care of them. I hope I don't get it. I hope they get better soon. *Yawn*

I out grew my old piano teacher. I have a new one now (she's really good) but she's getting married soon and moving away.

i guess that's all for now.

Jo

Mar. 13, 2007 - Stuff

We had our last performance on Saterday. We have our cast party next Saterday. That will be fun. I miss doing the play already. It was nice to get away. Oh well, now we have more time for other things.

My older sister's hand is broken. It's kind of my fault. I didn't mean to hurt her, but we were playing around and I accidently twisted her hand slightly. I feel pretty bad. It's her right hand so she can't do homework. (She's right handed)

Tap class today. I'm always very quiet at tap class. I don't say much, very shy. I guess I just don't have anything to say. That's okay though, we're there to tap dance, not talk, right?

We have a big play house in our back yard that is up on stilts, shaped like a boat. One of our hens got locked in it, and now it smells horrible in there because she pooed all over everything. I had a lot of stuff in there. Yuck.

I'm sorry that I had not posted in so long, and if I don't go to your blog, I'm sorry.  I don't have much computer time.

Feb. 27, 2007 - Light Me Up

I changed this blog's name. It sounds.... well....

I only have 2 minutes left on here before i have to get up. Then I have to wake everyone up, and there starts another day.

We might have tap class today.

Anyway, my "band" has performed their first song. We did Love Song For a Savior by Jars Of Clay. Our band name is Bottles Of Dirt. We want to do another Jars Of Clay song next. It's fun.

 Ahhhh!!! Got to get off.
