Well, for those who are interested, I discovered what I felt last night WAS in fact an earthquake. I found a helpful website that will tell you about any earthquake activity, including the epicenter, the magnitude, etc. This particular link will tell you about earthquakes in California or Nevada: http://quake.wr.usgs.gov/recenteqs/latest.htm; however, if you are curious, you can click on a link on the upper left-hand side where it says "world" and see where there have been earthquakes, well, all over the world! hee hee
Actually, the more I browse the website, I see it also has a "Kids Only" section, as well as a "science & technology" section. It might be a good site to bookmark if you ever were going to study earthquakes!
Anyhoo... After I discovered that I was not hearing and feeling things and it actually was an earthquake, I was able to go lie down and go to sleep. Of course, it was about 1am by that time! |
