Heartfelt Homeschool

My Scrapbook Pictures

Posted in Happy Scrappin

Well, I got one goal for the week accomplished!  I scrapbooked last night for a few hours working on February's pictures.  This morning I finished one more layout to get all of February completed.  I didn't post what I did last week yet, which was January's pictures, so I'll do that also:

These next three layouts are from our two-day trip to Disneyland in January ~

And this layout is from Nathan's birthday party ~

The next layouts are from February ~ the first one is a calendar page and then pictures of Sarah's first few ballet classes ~

On this layout, the title on the left side says, "Home's Cool."  Get it?  Homeschool... Home's Cool....   they are various pictures that we took during school time at home ~

This last one is the one I did this morning.  It is of two different field trips we took in the month of February when we were doing a unit study on birds~

And lastly... here are some pictures of our silly kitten.  He is so determined to get up on my table when I'm scrapping.  I continually kept putting him down and so he then started getting into my stuff ~

On top of my paper files ~                       Inside my rolling bag ~

Then the cat disappeared and a little while later I needed a bathroom break and found...

This just cracked me up!!  I mean... I have fresh water in his cat dish!

Well, I'm off to get some laundry done.  I hope you all have a great weekend and get a good start on your weekly goals.

Blessings,

13 Pages Completed!

Posted in Happy Scrappin

Well, last night I was able to get seven scrapbook pages done, and today I completed another six!  I spent two hours first thing this morning working (I work part time from home).  Then, the kids and I spent almost three hours decluttering their rooms, vacuuming them really well, and then picking up and vacuuming the rest of the house!  We had lunch midway through our cleaning spree.  It feels so good to have so much done!  I then worked on Sarah's birthday album while the kids had some free play time.  Here are my layouts:

Well... the first one is of our scrappy cat!  LOL  This is where he likes to lay while I'm scrapping... on one of my organizer bags.

This next page is simple.  It's the opening page for her 5th birthday.  I used one of her invitations down in the right-hand corner, and the Cinderella you see at the upper left-hand corner is from one of the decorations that we hung up around our house.  It's better than throwing the decorations away afterwards!

Here is Sarah's 5th birthday picture "professionally" taken by yours truly.  Every year on my child's birthday, I write them a letter telling them about things they like and what they have accomplished over the past year, and of course, how much I love them!

This next one are the rest of the "professional" pictures that I took:

The remaining layouts are from her birthday party.  This was the first time she got to have friends come over for a "real" party.  :)

Again, on this next layout, I used decorations that we had hanging up around our house to add to the scrapbook page:

And finally, here is the layout that shows her getting her new kitten.

Have you worked on your scrapbooks lately?  If so, post them on your blog and then leave me a comment so I can stop by and see!  I love getting new ideas from other scrappers!

Blessings,

Scrapbook Pictures

Posted in Happy Scrappin

Last night my mom came over to scrapbook with me.  We stayed up until 1am enjoying one another's company and working on our albums.  I was working on my middle son's albums.  Each of my children have a "birthday book" and a "school/activity album."  I only update them as needed throughout the year.  The remainder of our pictures go into our family albums.  I think this helps to simplify things.

So, last night, I worked on Nathan's basketball pages in his Activity Album and his birthday pictures for his Birthday Album.  He just turned seven this past January.  Here are the layouts I did:

This first one is from this past basketball season:

This next layout is Nathan's "professional" birthday picture (taken by none other than me ).  On the first page is a letter to him.  Every year on each child's birthday, I write to them telling them about the past year and all that I love about them!

This next layout is took me a long time!  BUT... with the amount of pictures I had, I normally would have had to create three or four layouts to get all of these pictures stuck down.  These pictures show all of the games we played at my son's birthday party.  We had a pinata, had sack races, and a "burst the balloon" race.  It was a fun day!  I used an example out of a magazine for this idea and adjusted it to fit my page.  I was so excited with the outcome.  :)

This last layout has the leftover pictures of him opening his presents and a few leftover "professional" pictures.  I just combined them all in one layout:

Some Scrapbook Pages

Posted in Happy Scrappin

It's so nice and quiet in my home right now!  It's past midnight and everyone is asleep.  I didn't plan to stay up so late, but my sweet hubby fell asleep early and I've been getting a few things done here and there.  I miss reading my fellow blogger friends to see what they are up to!  Oh, but there will be time for that when life gets back to "normal."  hee hee  What IS "normal" anyway?

Well, instead of rambling, I really intended to share a few scrapbook pages with you that I completed while at my mom's overnight.  It was a fun "retreat."  We stayed up until 2am and scrapped and laughed and talked and scrapped and laughed and talked and.... well, you get the idea!  I got 41 pages done!!  WAHOO!  My pages are fairly simple.  Every so often I get a creative nerve that works and I do something more elaborate, but not normally.  My mom did show me how to use an eyelet setter on one of my pages.  I just realized as I was uploading pictures that I neglected to take a picture of that layout.  Oops!  Well, that will be for another day... another blog entry, right?

So, without further ado... here are some of my scrapbook layouts... I hope they inspire you!  If you share your scrapbook pages, please leave me a comment and let me know.  I just *love* looking at others' scrapbooks and pictures!

Happy Scrappin!

Posted in Happy Scrappin

I've decided to add another category to my blog!  Yes, I'm a happy scrapbooker!  I love to scrap!  Now, I'm not Miss Creativity by any stretch.  I am really good at finding other people's samples and copying them!    I don't spend a lot of time with embellishments and such.  It's not that I don't like them.  I love looking at other people's pages all done up.  But, for me, rarely does the creative part of me work on its own, and secondly, I just don't have the time!  I want to get my pages done as quickly as possible and still have them enjoyable to look at.  I make sure I journal on each page before starting a new page.  I used to stick a bunch of pages down and tell myself that I'd journal "later."  Well, later never happened.

One of the most common comments I get when someone looks at my albums is, "I just don't have the time!"  Well, I don't either!  Scrapbooking is not only a fun outlet for me, but it's something I think important.  My children love to look at their albums.  I like that my journaling leaves a legacy of sorts for them.  When they are grown, they will know all about their family, and they will have a record of their mommy's love for them... not only in the time I spent making the albums, but also in the words I've written to them.

So, how much time do I spend on my albums?  I make an effort to work on them at least once a month.  My husband works Saturdays, so he is in bed early on Fridays.  Once a month on a Friday evening, I pull out my scrap stuff and spend a good three to four hours working on them.  Sometimes, if we don't have any plans the following day, I will leave my stuff out and try to work on them during the day on Saturday; however, not very often.  I do look forward to when my daughter is a little older and (hopefully) will want to scrapbook with me!  You'd be surprised how much I get done just working on my albums once a month.

I thought I'd share a few of my layouts - hopefully they will inspire you!  If anything, I hope you enjoy looking at them.  :)

This first one is from Nathan's first season of playing basketball:

The next three are from my brother's wedding this past August:

I'll try to post more layouts and scrapbooking ideas as I can!

Happy Scrappin'!
