Heartfelt Homeschool
I just wanted to say
Want to win a Dyson??
Do you like my slideshow?
********I AM EDITING THIS ENTRY BECAUSE I TOOK THE SLIDESHOW OFF MY BLOG FOR NOW****
I just can't seem to figure out how to put the slideshow UNDER my "Heartfelt Homeschool" title. It's too late in the evening for me to spend anymore time on it, so it will have to wait until later. Neat that I can do this. It's through Photobucket and it's a free service. :) I love pictures, so I'm sure I will be playing around with this some more in the future. :)
Have a great week everyone!

Now, who do YOU look like? I made that question a link if you want to try it out. Be sure to let me know if you post it on your blog!

Puzzling Thoughts from a Five-Year-Old
My daughter *loves* doing jigsaw puzzles with me. I'm not talking about little kid puzzle, but real jigsaw puzzles. Today, she and I finished a 520-piece puzzle. It took us three days.
As we sat yesterday working on it, she suddenly said, "The smaller the piece, the bigger you think."
I just thought that was so adorable!

A New Look for March
Yes, I have a hundred other things I could... or should be doing right now - like laundry, but it's so much more fun to play around on here and change the graphics now and then. I thought I'd change my blog look for the month of March. I liked how the three-leaf clovers looked like hearts joined together! What do you think?
Blessings,

Do you want to LAUGH?
Pictures - just for fun
Just wanted to share a few photos - I *love* pictures (hence, why I scrapbook and have framed pictures all over our home). Thought I'd share a few on here today.
This is of Sarah at her ballet class yesterday morning. She is loving this class! She's the one in second from the left in the pink tutu

And here is a picture of Nathan the day after his 7th birthday with the gift his Grandma gave him - a guitar!

And... if you needed a laugh today, here ya go... it's Sarah at the dinner table with a lime in her mouth (she eats them like they're an orange!)

Normally, we don't allow playing around at the dinner table, but this was just too funny - I had to get up and get my camera!
If you have pictures to share, be sure to leave me a comment so I can visit your blog.
Blessings,
~LISA

Do you like the layered look?
I'm staying up way too late messing around with my template trying to figure out how to put a layered border around my blog. What do you think? Do ya like this? Or shall I just go back to how it was?

I Want to be a Bear
I received this in an email a while back and thought it was hilarious... it's just how I feel today!
If you're a bear, you get to hibernate. You do nothing but sleep for six months. I could deal with that.
Before you hibernate, you're supposed to eat yourself stupid. I could deal with that too.
If you're a bear, you birth your children (who are the size of walnuts) while you are sleeping and wake to partially grown, cute, cuddly cubs. I could definitely deal with that.
If you're a mama bear, everyone knows you mean business. You swat anyone who bothers your cubs. If your cubs get out of line, you swat them too. I could deal with that.
If you're a bear, your mate EXPECTS you to wake up growling. He EXPECTS that you will have hairy legs and excess body fat.
Yup......I want to be a bear!

Hmmm....
Deleted this post! Although this particular post only had the results of what I should major in, I no longer want to support their website - please do not visit quizfarm.com; they have many vulgar and inappropriate "quizzes." I'm sorry I did not know this before originally posting!

Sprite's Silly Tag Questions
|
I've been tagged by Miss Sprite. She wrote on her comment that she loves being tagged, so remember her when you have something fun to pass along.
|
Please answer all of these questions, then if you want to, send it to 5-20 other bloggers. Please title the post "Sprite's Silly Tag Questions", so that I can serch for them and see all who have been tagged! Thank you!
What is your favorite kind of gum? I don't chew gum.
What is your favorite kind of jewelry? (bracelet, necklace, ring, etc.) My wedding ring.
What is your favorite girls name? Sarah - it means princess, which has a sentimental value attached to it since growing up my wonderful Grandpa used to call me his princess; and now that I am a Christian, it reminds me that we are daughters (or a princess) of the High and Mighty King!
What is your favorite boys name? I have two of course! Ryan (means little king) & Nathan (means gift of God).
Who is your favorite Sesame Street character? Elmo... and oh, those honkers! They crack me up!
Do you like to paint your fingernails? I like to have someone else paint my fingernails!
If you could go to one place in the whole entire world, for 1 year, where would you go? For one year? Wow! I don't know... maybe Australia? Maybe Europe? I really don't know.
Would you rather have curly hair or straight hair? Depends on my mood.
Would you rather have long hair or short hair? Long hair.
If you had to have a big picture painted on your bedroom door, would you rather have a picture of a smiley face, or a flower? Most definitely a flower. I love looking at God's creation.
If you shared a bunk bed with someone, would you rather have the top bunk, or the bottom bunk? The top for sure!
I love getting tagged. So please, if you ever feel like tagging someone, my blog can be your first stop.

Finish the Sentences
I saw this on the blog To God be the Glory and wanted to add it to mine. If you add it to your blog, please leave me a comment. I'd love to visit your blog and read yours.
What you do is finish each sentence and it turns out to be a great poem about yourself.
I am I wonder
I hear
I see
I want
I am
I pretend
I feel
I touch
I worry
I cry
I am
I understand
I say
I dream
I try
I hope
I am
Here's ME:
I am a child of God, a wife, a mother, a daughter, a friend. I wonder about my children's future.
I hear God's voice when I quiet myself and listen.
I see God's creation around me when I stop and look.
I want to glorify God and leave a legacy of His Love.
I am a sinner saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ.
I pretend I don't see the messes around me.
I feel blessed.
I touch the ones I love with hugs and prayers.
I worry about my children's future.
I cry when I see heartache around me.
I am grateful for food, water, clothing, and shelter.
I understand that I will reap what I sow.
I say trust in the Lord for all things.
I dream about my children's future.
I try to be an example of Christ's Love.
I hope to see all of my loved ones in heaven someday.
I am eternally grateful for what God has done in my life. |

I've been tagged! "Fly on the Wall"
I've been tagged by FLHSMOM.
| |
|
"You have to tell what your day TODAY was like...really! Not what you wish it'd been like or what you'd planned for it to be like, but how it really turned out. Be sure to title it "Fly on the Wall" so we can look for those blogs. Tag about five or so friends and we can all have fun being a fly on the wall of someone else's homeschool for a day.
Well, we didn't have school today since my husband was off. It was so nice not to have to set our alarm and sleep in a bit. The boys and my husband got up before Sarah and I did. They made pancakes, bacon, and eggs for breakfast. What a treat!
After breakfast, I watched some more of the news and spent time in prayer. Oh, how my heart just aches for these people.
It was hot here - low 90s and humid, so my husband got out the wading pool and pump-up waterslide we have and put it out in the backyard for the kids to play in. While they were outside, I did laundry and worked on cleaning up this office of mine. I've still got some areas to clean out, but it looks a LOT better than it did when I started.
A few hours later, my Mom, her husband, and my grandma came over for hamburgers & hotdogs. We played the game "Apples to Apples" which is fun and just visited.
It's 8:36pm, and I just got our oldest to bed. I need to see what needs to be done before school tomorrow now...
*and* Answer these questions yourself and then send this to five other people.
Are you following any special diet right now? If so, what? No special diet... just trying to make wise choices and eat only when I feel hungry (aka no snacking!)
What food do you love that others usually think is gross? I can't think of anything!
How many magazines do you personally subscribe to? Only one at this time: The Old Schoolhouse.
What is your most favorite article of clothing, and how often do you wear it? My favorite article of clothing is anything that is COMFORTABLE. I try to wear comfortable clothes everyday! LOL
Do either you or your husband still have clothes from High School or college hanging in your closet? If yes- do they still fit? Oh no! Not hanging in my closet and no way would they fit now! I wish! I probably do still have some clothes from high school packed away in a box somewhere that I should find and give away.
What book are you reading right now? That's listed on the right sidebar here on my blog. :)
Name an odd thing you have on your kitchen or bathroom counter. I must be boring... :) There isn't anything odd on my counters.

What Scrapbooking Item Are You?
Okay... I found this and had to try it. Scrapbooking is one of my favorite ways to spend my "spare time." If you also have this hobby, check this out: What Scrapbooking Item Are You?
It turns out I would be glue! LOL :) I originally had a picture of a glue stick on here; however, it seemed that it was difficult for my page to download with it on, so I took it off. Those of you who scrapbook know what a glue stick looks like, right? :)
Anyway... here is my description:
.
You are GLUE! You are the adhesive that keeps things together. You go through life helping others. You stick to people and try to keep people together. You like it best when you are surrounded by people and able to help them. But Glue Beware - in your efforts to keep everyone together and with you, you sometimes overlook yourself and find it hard to keep yourself together. Don't neglect personal time in your overwhelming need to socialize and help others.
