Sharing my mom's talent...
I just wanted to share with you what my mom has been up to. She is talented when it comes to creativity and sewing, etc. I can't sew hardly anything... maybe a button on a shirt or something, but that's about it. I don't even know how a sewing machine works! LOL
Anyway, she has been sewing and creating baby teething blankets. They are so adorable. My nephew just loved these! She has listed a few on her eBay site to see if there is an interest. If you have a baby or maybe are in need of a gift for a baby shower, etc., be sure to check out these links:
My mom has a lot of other patterns that she is creating blankets out of. If you have a request for a specific color or theme, send her an email through eBay!
Thanks for looking and supporting my mom's talent!!

What's for breakfast?
What do YOU eat for breakfast? Not what your children eat, but you...
See, most days, my children help themselves to waffles, toast, or cereal and fruit. Every other day, I scramble some eggs for them or make hard boiled eggs the night before. Breakfast for my children is easy.
However, I'm a totally different story. Because I have high cholesterol, I cannot eat eggs every single day. I'm trying to eat healthy and lose weight... What do you eat in the morning that fills you up? Most days, I just eat a SlimFast bar or a Zone bar. I know it's not the best thing, but it's quick and easy, though not all THAT satisfying.
So, I was just curious... what do you eat for breakfast?

The sound on my computer....
Can you help me? I am just not very smart when it comes to computer stuff. I logged onto my computer last night, and the sound isn't working. I have no idea why. The speakers are plugged in and the little green light on them is on, which tells me it is *supposed* to be working... but it's not.
Do you know what I need to check on my computer to find out what the problem is?? I mean... I put music on my blog and I can't even listen to it! LOL
Thanks in advance if you are able to help me. Have a wonderful Tuesday.
blessings,
~LISA

Please leave me a comment...
I've had a fellow HSB friend email me, because she said she was unable to leave a comment on my blog. I checked my settings and everything looks okay from what I can tell. Will you do me a favor and leave me a quick comment so I can know if it is working or not?
Thanks!!

A Request for my Mom...
For those of you who visit my blog somewhat regularly, or even if this is your first time here, will you do me a favor and help out my wonderful mom? I truly am blessed to say that my mom is my best friend. We have so much fun together!
Anyway... my mom has started a new venture - she is setting up her own website with the intent to work from home (long story, and I'm not sure I could explain it accurately anyhow).
If you could leave me a comment answering the following questions, it would help her out greatly, and I would be very appreciative to you for your help. Here they are:
-
What type of products do you purchase from the internet?
-
Is there a product that you would buy off the internet but you have had trouble finding?
That's it! Easy, huh? I thank you in advance for taking a few moments to help my mom out in her new venture!
Blessings,
~LISA

Cleaning out my shelves again!!
I'm trying to de-clutter again! I just have so much STUFF. If you are looking for homeschool curriculum, books, exercise tapes, or other miscellaneous items, be sure to check out My Ebay. I've only started listing items tonight. I'll be adding more tomorrow evening, so be sure to check back again.
I'm kind of sad, because some of the stuff I am selling, not because I don't like it, but because my children are starting to outgrow them. I sure do miss having little ones underfoot. I can't believe my "baby" is about to turn five!
Well, anyway... it's my bedtime, so I need to turn this computer of mine off now! :)
Blessings,
~LISA

In a mood...
Ever do that? Get in a mood? LOL Fridays are always a busy day for us. One child has piano lessons; another child has a ballet class. Today, after their lessons/class, I met some other homeschoolers at a nearby park. It was a nice day, and our time spent there seemed to go by so quickly.
My boys' baseball game tomorrow isn't until 3pm, so I had been planning on working on my scrapbooks this evening; however, I'm just not in the mood! I also had planned to write out some thought-provoking entires here on my blog, but I'm just not in the mood. I'm not in the mood for much this evening. :) The creative side of my brain has just shut down for the day!
So... maybe I need to just relax. My daughter wants to watch Winn-Dixie, so I think I'll go cuddle with her on the couch and enjoy that sweet movie.
Hope you had a fabulous Friday and have a very blessed weekend!

Hooray!!!!!
I'm back! I'm back!! First, I wasn't on here much because my hubby was on vacation. Then, the day he returns to work, the folks here at HSB were updating this wonderful blog site, so I couldn't log on. THEN, I couldn't get my password to work in order to log on here! LOL
I have so much to share; however, we are in the middle of a school day, so I'll just have to wait!
Many blessings,

Our "Momma Bird"
I have a hanging planter on our back porch in which a mourning dove has made as her nest for the past year and a half. I'm wondering if it's the same bird or if it is one of her babies. How on earth did John James Audobon tie a string to a bird's leg? I'd sure like to do that to know whether or not this is the same "momma bird" or one of her babies.
The reason I'm thinking it's one of the babies... normally when I took the bird's picture or whenever the kids went out in the backyard to play, the bird would just sit still. However, this bird seems very jittery and gets scared and flies off when we go outside.
Nevertheless, my children get so excited whenever she comes back to make her nest! It's especially exciting when the little eggs hatch...

Spring... new life... :)
Blessings,
~LISA

Taking Surveys
I thought I'd give a quick explanation about the new link on my sidebar for NFO Surveys. I have been doing surveys with them for probably two years. It is free to sign up. They have never tried to sell me anything.
This is how it works: You register with them and then every so often they will send you an email with a link back to their site for you to complete a survey. The surveys are on all kinds of various things. Some surveys are short and only take about five minutes; some are longer and take about 20 minutes. Sometimes they send you merchandise to try out and then you complete an online survey about the item. We've done this for shampoo, paper towels, and toilet paper! LOL
You earn points for each survey, with the longer surveys earning you more points. For every 1,000 points you earn, you earn $10. I know that's not a huge amount of money, but it adds up. It's not time-consuming and I don't have to leave my home to do it! :)
Anyway, I thought I'd share it in case anyone here is interested in it. After a week or so, I will probably move the banner link further down on my sidebar. (It's not pretty and doesn't match my template - ha ha!)
Blessings!

Decluttering my Bookshelves!
Oh my! I cannot believe all the books I have!! I always have such a hard time parting with books - I love to read! But, it seems I just don't have the time to read everything....
So, on Monday, I started pulling books off the shelves throughout our home. Books that I've never touched, probably will never read, and some books that I have read but won't ever read again.
It took me two days, but I finally got them all listed on eBay! All 46 items!! Yes, FORTY-SIX! Isn't that crazy? And can you believe that I still have lots of books left on all our bookshelves?!?
I do have some homeschool stuff listed, so if you're curious, just click on my link over on my sidebar to see what's up for sale! I start all my auctions at just .99cents!
I had planned to do more tonight, but it's much too late for anything else now! Tomorrow's another day!
Blessings,
~LISA

What I've Done Today
Well, I started a few things today that I have on my list. My desk is somewhat cleaned off. Still a few more piles to go through, but at least I started.
I worked on my scrapbook for about an hour and a half this morning while the kids played.
In an effort to declutter and to help myself stop feeling so badly for all of the books I have on my shelf that I haven't yet gotten around to reading, I took pictures of 27 of them and uploaded them onto my computer. Tomorrow evening I will list them on eBay. Most of these books I no longer need or probably will never get around to reading them, so why keep them? They are just collecting dust and piling on the guilt!
Oh, I also wrote out a list of "easy" meals to make for busy nights (AKA nights when the boys have baseball practice or games), such as crockpot recipes and casseroles that I can make at lunch time and then just stick in the oven for dinner. It's not a very big list yet, but at least I've started it, right?
I also wrote down a few ideas that I want to do for Valentine's Day... will post more about that later.
Well, it's almost 4pm, which is when my hubby usually gets up from his nap. I will blog some more tomorrow night.
Blessings to you this weekend!
