Heartfelt Homeschool
Alexis is with Jesus...
My heart hurts for this family that I've never met. I wrote a few months ago about Alexis and added a link about Alexis' story to my sidebar. My stepmom shared her story with me. Alexis was her great niece.
On Wednesday, while I celebrated 14 years of marriage, my stepmom called me in tears to let me know that Alexis had gone to be with Jesus. I had no words. All I could think is that the Lord gives and the Lord takes away. I do not understand His plan at times like this. I don't understand why the Lord takes a child away from a loving family. But, I don't have to understand. God is still on His throne. The Lord is still gracious and compassionate. (Psalms 145:8) His word doesn't change. His promises never change. His lovingkindness and mercy towards us never changes. He is still worthy to be praised.
It makes me think of my daughter's favorite song..
BLESSED BE YOUR NAME
Blessed be Your name
In the land that is plentiful
Where Your streams of abundance flow
Blessed be Your name
And blessed be Your name
When I'm found in the desert place
Though I walk through the wilderness
Blessed be Your name
Every blessing You pour out
I'll turn back to praise
And when the darkness closes in Lord
Still I will say
Blessed be the name of the Lord
Blessed be Your name
Blessed be the name of the Lord
Blessed be Your glorious name
Blessed be Your name
When the sun's shining down on me
When the world's all as it should be
Blessed be Your name
And blessed be Your name
On the road marked with suffering
Though there's pain in the offering
Blessed be Your name
You give and take away
You give and take away
My heart will choose to say
Lord blessed be Your name
Blessed be Your name
Blessed be Your name
Please join me in praying for this precious family and love the ones in your life well... our time here on this earth is so short.
In His grip,

Update on my Nephew
Hi everyone,
Here is an update on my nephew Conner.
As of 7am this morning, Conner is still on oxygen. He had three breathing treatments during the night and they kept using whatever they use to suck out the stuff from his lungs. He was so bad when they admitted him that he was turning blue. They aren't sure yet how long he will be there; only that they said he needs to be able to breath clearly on his own for a while before they let him go. They told my sister-in-law it is not asthma but some bronchial thing that babies get and she couldn't remember what they called it. (I'm thinking it's that RSV virus?). In any case, thank you for continuing to lift up Conner and his family in prayer.

Please Pray for my Nephew
I have a precious four-month-old nephew named Conner. He has been admitted overnight at our local Children's Hospital to be kept on a breathing machine. Needless to say, my brother and his wife are very distressed, as are my mother and myself. It is hard to just sit here... so I'm posting this asking you, whoever reads this, to please join me in praying for baby Conner.
Here is a recent picture of him:

Update on my friend
Thank you for praying...
Sandy's husband called me yesterday after she was out of surgery. She was still in recovery but doing well. The surgery went as planned, except that two of her lymph nodes did test positive for cancer (it was spreading), and so those lymph nodes were removed.
She will soon start chemotherapy...
I appreciate your continued prayers for God's comfort, peace, and strength for her and her husband and little girls.
thank you!
Blessings,
~LISA

Please pray for my friend
Hello fellow prayer warriors! If you are a regular visitor or just stopping by my blog today, will you please take a few moments and pray for my dear sister-in-Christ today? Her name is Sandy, and as I type this she is in surgery having a double mastectomy due to breast cancer. She has two little girls and a wonderful, loving husband. Please pray that the cancer has not spread and that the doctors are able to remove all of it, for a quick recovery, and that through this, her Dad will come to know the Lord.
She is a dear and precious friend to me... thank you for praying!!
"Blessed is the man whose strength is in the You,
Whose heart is set on pilgrimage."
Psalm 84:5

Update on my sister-in-law
I appreciate your prayers for my brother and his wife. She went to her doctor's today, and he put her on early disability, so she's home on bed rest. She is allowed to get up and move around, but she's not allowed to do anything strenous at all... the doctor told her not to even vacuum!
She's due mid-July, so I'm just praying that the Lord will keep her and baby healthy and safe until this little one is ready for the world.
Thank you again for your prayers,
Blessings,
~LISA

Quick Update on my Brother & Family
I'm so tired and need to get to bed, but I just wanted to give you a quick update on my brother's pregnant wife if you are praying for them. She was home today (Tuesday) and told to basically stay in bed. She was fine as long as she was lying down, but when she would get up for any reason, she would feel some cramping. She is to go back to her doctor tomorrow (Wednesday), and she is hoping that he will just go ahead and put her on early disability. She works full-time, and she is fearful of going back to work at this point. Please be praying for what's best for her and her baby...
I will give you another update tomorrow when I know what the outcome is.
Thank you so much for praying!
Now, I must be getting to bed...
Blessings,
~LISA

URGENT PRAYER NEEDED
Lance is my brother, and Vanessa is his wife. I just received this email from my mom today. Please be praying for them...
Please pray for Lance & Vanessa. Vanessa is seven months pregnant and Lance just called to say he's taking her to the doctor today. She's been up all night throwing up, very weak, swollen, her blood pressure is high and her arms ache so much she can hardly lift them and she's having stomach cramps.
She had problems at the end of her pregnancy with Kyle. I think it was a toxemia or whatever you call it and that type of diabetes you can get when your pregnant.
I could hear in Lances voice how worried he is. He's suppose to call me soon as he talks to the doctor.
