If you've been visiting my blog much, you might have noticed I have changed the sidebar by adding many new categories. I am hoping it will simplify things and also help me to keep focused on all that God has called me to do in my own life, as well as encourage other women in their high calling.
For years, I led women's group at my church. I loved it. It was such a blessing to me and I grew tremendously because of it. I even spoke at a few different women's events (a Mom's breakfast and a women's retreat). I do not share this to boast, because if you knew me personally, you would *know* that it was only by God leading and His strength and grace that I was able to do these things. Growing up, I was very shy and found it difficult to speak to others... and terrifying to stand up in front of a group to speak! Never, ever did I imagine where God would lead me...
However, over the past year or more, God has led me out of women's ministry for the time being. I do miss being a part of it. I miss the fellowship, the studying God's word together, and being used by Him to encourage and teach other women.
For the past few months, I've really been sensing the Lord wanting me to use this blog as a ministry of sorts... to encourage, uplift, motivate, and inspire other homeschooling moms in their calling as a child of God, wife, mommy, homeschooler, and homemaker. There is so much to all of that, isn't there?
I know that only through print it can be hard to *see* the heart of the person writing. I hope you know that anything I share is not from a prideful heart. If I share something that has worked in our homeschool or home, please do not think that I "have it all together." Please know that I struggle just like you... some days more than others. I plan to be transparent in my writing and not only share what has worked in our home, but what hasn't.
Also know that what might have worked for me, may not work for you. God has given us all different families and different circumstances. I do not pretend to have all the answers for every person and every situation.
I can only share from my heart what God has done in my life, in our home, and what He has taught me on this journey. I pray that God may use my weaknesses to honor and glorify Him... and that whatever good I may do is because of Him and His giftings.
I pray that God will use me greatly to touch your life in this high calling!
I plan to post on my blog daily, Lord willing. I have many categories to update! :)
Blessings,
~LISA
