Always Blessed

Mar. 25, 2007 - Beautiful Spring Sunday

Today was such a beautiful Spring day. Half of our family attended Sunday service today and the other half - parent and younger siblings remained at home for the  morning. We are a dual religion household - any others out there ????? My husband is Catholic and I have been raised Protestant. We are raising our children knowing, participating, and understanding both. This  Sunday was for mass. Mass service can be difficult when you are 3 yrs. old and there is no nursery. Next week we will attend church with Sunday school, time with children, and a nursery.

When the "men" returned from service, we ate lunch together and then the 3 older children (ages 10, 7, 5 ) and Dad went to the YMCA for family swim. It`s been a long time since the`ve been to the YMCA so it was a real treat. I opted to stay home and take a walk with our 3 year old ( I`m not much for swimming, I get cold before I even hit the water). We took his bicycle out for a walk to the park. It`s amazing the things that little ones notice - again, it was a beautiful sunny day and as we are going along he shouts (never speaks softly ) "Look, look it`s the moon, I see the moon!!! What`s he doing up there??!!!" I was truly happy to have had some alone time with just him and to have been able to notice a few of lifes simple joys through his beautiful eyes.

I hope everyone who lives somewhere that the weather was nice, was able to enjoy some of Gods wonder and beauty today !!!

Welcome to HSB! I don't know that I've come across any other blog where the family splits where they go to church. There might be some here though.

Don't forget to check out the HSB Company Porch! You'll find articles on homeschooling, HSB news, and contests there.

Mar. 26, 2007 - Dual families

Good Morning,
Sounds like you had a lovely weekend. I am sure there has to be dual families out there. Finding them is the harder part. But keep asking! That just might be someone else's reason for blogging.

Hi again! Thanks for commenting on my blog :) Comments are lots of fun to get. And the more you leave for other people the more people will visit you and leave comments :)

i have done Tedd Tripp's study 6 years ago when my oldest was a baby. It is a wonderful book and I hope you get time to read it. Since my daughter is moving to another phase of understanding I figure I need to read it again and refresh my memory! I'm sure different things will stand out at me this time.

That must be challenging for you to be attending 2 different churches so your children are exposed to both! I'm going to add you to my friends list so I can come back and check in on you :)

I am proud of you! Your title looks great. I am going to change mine to Walking in Truth, I think. I can always change it back if it doesn't suit me!

That's a creative way to handle the situation. Most families I know, one of the family members gets their choice of church and the other gives theirs up. I'm glad to see you found something that works for both of you.
